He check called his chips away until he got it allin with an underpair and got lucky. Merceir was a bloody moster though :( Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: TheChipPrince on February 17, 2010, 12:47:07 PM Learn to hit 'dem flops!

I am amazed that only after 4 days they could find one hand to show, i have been watching you for years and cant think of one good play lol. not even the one in Walsall.@ 5.50 http://www.youtube.com/user/EPICPokerTV#p/a/u/1/-dp0A8ftB8k Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: George2Loose on February 17, 2010, 05:40:13 PM Keith I'm sure you're in an earlier episode where Norman chad says you need a shave, you need to iron your shirt and why are you capping your cards when you have 93 off suit?

Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: pleno1 on February 17, 2010, 06:01:21 PM Yeah I think it goes Negraneu open, someone flats and Keith deliberates a squeeze for about 5 seconds.
I love the WSOPE footage not just saying that because one of my friends produces it but it really is fun. Mercier is super sick and plays the big stack to perfection. He comes off really well too, what was his chat like at the table Keith? He comes off really well too, what was his chat like at the table Keith? I really hoped a hand I played with charder would be on tv. I 4 bet him with JTs and he tanked forever, really wanted know what he had there. And another with Negreanu, when he flatted a raise from boosted j and I reraised from the bb with AJ. Smith folded but Negreanu shoved. Would have liked to know what he had there. Mercier has a great table image, but I'm not sure he's a nice guy, probably a bit disingenuous. Hoss however seemed like a really good bloke. Played well too. I was incredibly lucky in this tournament, there were really good players everywhere, but I managed not to face anyone too dangerous with position on me until the last two tables. Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: pleno1 on February 17, 2010, 07:02:12 PM Yeah well it showed your chips go from like 400,000 then next time we saw was at end of day 3 where you were 3rd in chips with 700.00. As a guy who is into gambling, if you win that race v praz, what would you say your correct odds would of been to win the bracelet?
It's interesting you say Mercier doesn't come across well, I listened to his Pokerroad podcast last night and he just refused to answer any strategy questions at all and kinda came across as a nob. I'm pretty sure I was watching one of the ept live streams and he came in and commentated for a bit and was v interesting, didn't give away massive secrets but he did discuss the hands well and give much better analysis than you would usually get. Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: NigDawG on February 19, 2010, 01:34:37 PM how much value was there in this tourney keith? all the comments i've heard are that its the "hardest tournament of the year" etc etc.
how would you compare it to the aussie millions for example (we played later part of day 1 and i thought that was one of the toughest tables i'd ever played, in my albeit limited experience) the majority of the wsope footage shown on tv so far has been lol bad with exception of mercier and charder. but yh i understand that these 4hrs of edited tv shouldn't be my sole basis for conclusion lol oh and mr keys' view, but he had a ridic table draw and somehow luckboxed his way to cashing the first two times... so must be f soft amirite ay ay :D Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: The Camel on February 19, 2010, 01:54:41 PM how much value was there in this tourney keith? all the comments i've heard are that its the "hardest tournament of the year" etc etc. how would you compare it to the aussie millions for example (we played later part of day 1 and i thought that was one of the toughest tables i'd ever played, in my albeit limited experience) the majority of the wsope footage shown on tv so far has been lol bad with exception of mercier and charder. but yh i understand that these 4hrs of edited tv shouldn't be my sole basis for conclusion lol oh and mr keys' view, but he had a ridic table draw and somehow luckboxed his way to cashing the first two times... so must be f soft amirite ay ay :D Someone offered to put me in this tournament, there is no way I would play this on my own coin. I was really really lucky with my table draw. On day 1 I had Howard Lederer on my left who was like an empty seat. I played alot with Steve Zolotow, Tony Cosineau, Devilfish, Men the Master and Ross Boatman. All of whom are certainly no mugs, but I would 10 times rather play with them than the assortment of scandis we had to face in Australia. I did face some good players. Charder, Tabbatabi, Negreanu, Akenhead and Bansi, but I had position on all of them so it wasn't a problem. I suppose I was due a bad draw on the last two tables, and Mercier on my immediate left was the worst. He decimated my stack (none of the hands shown on tv lol). I think we were very unlucky in Australia, probably the hardest table in the room. I will definitely play the Aussie Millions again, but only play the wsope again if I win a seat or I find another mug to put me in ;) Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: pokerfan on February 19, 2010, 01:59:42 PM how much value was there in this tourney keith? all the comments i've heard are that its the "hardest tournament of the year" etc etc. What`s peeps thoughts on this ? One the best value tournaments of the year imo. Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: Dry em on February 23, 2010, 02:56:14 PM Just on Mercier, I played quite a bit with him in this and he seemed like a nice guy chatting a bit on the table and in the break. Wasn't talking strategy tho I guess, so can't comment on that bit too much. The other boys seemed to think he was ok too and can play a bit...
Title: Re: My ESPN Debut Post by: redarmi on February 23, 2010, 04:47:03 PM Slight side note but I am not sure that the table draw for the Aussie Millions is totally random. When I arrived the Friday before I was given my seat draw. I was one of eight sat winners form Microgaming and lo and behold on my table were three other Microgaming qualifiers and everyone else on the table barring one had won a sat online. This actually made for a relatively soft table but when I looked aroundn the room the big name pros seemed to be bunched together.....Ivey, Dwan and Billy the croc all on one table with a couple of other iirc. Based on this I think that your tables might not have been totally representative of the standard in the Aussie Millions.
