Title: just finished the wire Post by: moonandback on February 20, 2010, 01:27:49 AM I know its been mentioned all over the forum before but i have to say its the probably the best police drama ive ever seen and there were some incredible performances, thinking in particular of Bubbles the junkie i dont think i have cared about a fictional character as much as i did about him just a great acting job. got a bumper harvest of box sets for xmas with Entourage,Dexter,The Wire and The Soprano's, down to my last set now just started the Soprano's looks good so far. Oh i think series 4 of the wire was my favourite.

Did really well over there lots of good reviews I seem to remember. Yeah the first season was based on the Melbourne Gangland Murders in the 90's. The 2nd is a prequel, set in the 70's/80's and centres around a guy called Terry Clark who was a massive drug dealer. For those that have only watched the first couple of series and are liking it I can only say it gets better and better and all five series work together to make it a truly sensational piece of drama.

It's a show that ended because they decided they had finished telling the story they wanted to rather than a show that ended because the last season was shite. It's called Treme, is set in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and features Bunk and Fremon in its cast.
