Wanted to give as much advance notice as possible that the next blonde bash (bb9) will be held at DTD

Weekend of 29th-31st May (Bank Holiday weekend)

bb9 comp on the Saturday from 2pm

Super 50 on the Sunday


Details to follow on satellite packages, how to enter, other events (Heads Up, Roshambo, football, quiz, maybe an Omaha side event etc etc)

I think the super 50 always plays second fiddle to anything else that happens to be on. If nothing else is on they'll run a super 50.

Anybody know what the Britannia hotel Notts is like?

I'm pretty sure I stayed there once. abs nothing remarkable about the place but I can't remember anything bad either. if you've got a good price then ideal for a w/end like this where you won't be spending any time there

Cheers, sounds like a cheap alternative to Holiday Inn etc etc, but on saying that a lot of blondes will prob choose HI/PI so it might be better to go there as half the good stuff happens in the hotel bar afterwards.

What about location and cab fares from DTD? Google maps says its about 4 miles.

Lots of up and coming stuff, building up to bigger names in the evening.
Ladyhawke, Kate Nash, Patrick Wolf, Marina & The Diamonds, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Mystery Jets, Friendly Fires, Mumford & Sons, Little Boots, Klaxons, Frank Turner, Laura Marling and Foals to name but a few who have made up the line up for the last 3 years.

When the grandfolks have the kids me and the Mrs stay there.

Dinner in Chino Latino is Spot on, great if there is 4 of you around £75 per head including Booze

Golf Saturday am anyone?

Have not managed to make one yet, fingers crossed for this one...one time etc etc

Either golf or football mate, prob best to just play 9 holes though if we play golf.

Golf > Nandos > DTD sounds perfect, to be fair.

Never been to one oif these yet but will be making sure I make a good effort to get to this one. DTD perfect venue as well.

Wollaton Park is the nearest golf club. Not sure if they will let you in although Dtd and a a dtd reg have pretty strong ties there i believe.

Bramcote hills is the standard one though not far away that will let you in no probs.

Nakor/Gatso - Dot to Dot tickets are on sale now. They are £25, go upto £35 a month before and £45 on the day. Just ask Dan, cant believe he left 2 of the 12 tickets in my house last year after I had been good enough to buy them, and have them delivivered to my house!

I looked at Bramcote Hills cos I thought that was the one Bongo was suggesting. It closed down.

Doubt it. It's something that anybody can do at Sunday lunchtime. Only problem I can see is if we have the Sunday Omahahahahaha comp like we did last time, as the HU was a pain because people were playing the Omaha. If we get rid of the quiz and start the HU earlier, then hopefully there's no overlap.

As far the the private STTs and cash games are concerned i am sure we can sort something out.

Yeah the tighty sngs were great fun. I recall running one as well as tighty had to go off and do something else. Thinking of bizarre things to do each hand is hard lol

If DTD allow it, I intend to do a MTT Tighty SNG. Online qualification only, of course.

I hope so. This was probably the only disappointment, for me personally, of the last BB we had at DTD, everything else was pretty much perfect.

Be interesting if we could get some really weird low-limit FL cash games going, something like what Flushy and co were doing at the last one

I'm a member at Wollaton Park Golf Club and I could sign up to three people in so it would cost around £25 rather than the £40+ for someone just randomly appearing.
 

We had the DTD golf day at Wollaton Park so if enough interest we could get some teams together for a round.

Now that is a really good idea.

Woodthorpe Park pitch and putt is a decent 18 hole layout with all of the holes between 50 and 125 yards.

You can just bring or rent a couple of clubs and a putter and they don't mind if you go and play ten-handed.

I need to book a room and I'm wondering which hotel everyone will be in as I want to be in the same one - has anyone booked yet?

I've pre-reserved the Holiday Inn at a half decent flex rate as a backup but will book once I know where everybody else is staying.

Late rooms.com say they are sold out on the Saturday, but if you go through the HI website there's plenty left at about £65 a night

I have noticed a trend that the hotel 'everyone' tends to stay at for blonde bashes is not necessarily the cheapest, or the best value, or the best location - but it's the one 'everyone' is staying at so they book there.

I always thought that we stayed at CM last time because DTD had a special "hotel rate". Do they have this again, and if not, why don't we look for the cheapest and stay there instead? (Taking into account costs of getting back from DTD/location etc.)

The holiday inn and premier inn in town are only about 2 minutes walk away from each other too. The Jurys is miles away mind.

Within reason, obv. Would much rather pay to stay in a hotel like Holiday Inn, Premier Inn etc than some guesthouse in the middle of nowhere. I meant something like if the HI in city centre is cheaper than CM then why not stay there?

I've only got 4 double bedrooms so it's a bit of a squeeze what with me and the dog.

Also there's only enough space on my drive for about 4 cars so parking would be a nightmare.

There's only 2 bathrooms as well and I wouldn't want you all to have to share.

Just checked on the HI website and CM is cheaper by about £2.95 per night.

PI is cheaper by £20 on Fri and Sun Night but £7 more on the Saturday!!!!!

20 freeze and 10rb seem perfect. Again, I would try and run the odd 1 in 5 to the 20 freeze but that's just me lol, am sure most people would be happy to pay the 20 direct.

always quite liked the park inn. rooms are quite small but adequate for about 40 quid

Last twice i stayed service was excellent- rooms big and clean- got deal for 50 quid per night for twin- really handy for city centre if needed. needed my own wifi though. golf is handy too
