Almost pointless me adding my bit here because its not hard to find poker peeps in this forum, but here goes anyway: I am the editor of UK Pokernews. I was also a very prolific poker magazine freelancer but I am knocking that on the head, bar the odd feature. I am looking more to move into the marketing side of things where that is concerned. I am currently ghostwriting/cowriting a book, which I am enjoying and may look to do that again in the future. I am also doing a little bit of consultancy work for the media/marketing side a well known online poker room, but its on a project that isnt live yet so I wont say what it is (Nothing major, just dunno if I can mention it or not). I also know how to do PAT testing, hopefully wont be doing that again any time soon. Oh and my missus can get you a decent rate on burgler alarms, particularly for large companies. Oh and my dad can get you pool tables, juke boxes, pinball machines etc. Title: Re: Networking Post by: Colchester Kev on March 02, 2010, 06:51:33 PM Bum.
Title: Re: Networking Post by: DaveShoelace on March 02, 2010, 06:52:17 PM I actually have used blonde for lots of non poker stuff. My missus was ill and DingDell helped her incredibly with advice on colonic irrigation. I got my pension sorted via blonde and also my (banned....FACT) accountant.

Don't suppose he knows anyone in the Midlands that refurbishes the things do you? Had one for years, not touched it for a couple, shattered the glass during a recent house move, fml, and it needed some TLC even before that happened. Only ones I've ever found are Blackpool or South coast. Oh, and I'm a extraordinarily geeky computer programmer/chemical engineer. If you happen to want dynamic simulations for training oil+gas control room operators (production, rather than refining, mostly), I'm your man. Can anyone get any more niche than that, I wonder? :) Title: Re: Networking Post by: ViiperUK on March 02, 2010, 11:59:26 PM Part Time Bum, Part TIme Comet Worker, Part Time Self Employed Photographer lol

Typset commercial adverts/offers for mags and newspapers. My bread and butter bulk is bog standard Reader Offers in most of the Nationals, boring work but the most cost effective timewise/£ph. Look at any advert in the newspaper, that's bascially what I do in a nutshell. Have typeset whole magazines and catalogues in the past and still do about 4 a year, satisfying on completion but can be Do not touch web design, it's a different kettle of fish compared to print work. With print work you need to know cmyk breakdowns, bleeds/trim/type/crop/ and other tech specifications before you can even start laying out the advert.
