Oh for the days when you could be a winning online player after 2 episodes of LNP, half an hour on a play money table and a couple of chapters of a poker book.

Rabid Rat, Hector Jelly - two very good trouney players back then.

Can anyone remember the name for an American guy who ran well in the normal 7pm 8pm tourneys, always very chatty at the table - Portfoloi would remember him (think he went to visit him once)

Sigh

I know who Corrie/Je Weet Toch is and met Sat Com once but both seemed to have disappeared of the radar. Pffa was Portfolios missus...very good player but had health problems and not seen her for a few years. I beleive she had a toy boy aswell ;-)
Good times when I used to win a bob or two...sigh.

Raymundo - New Yorker, gave up poker for good after substantial losses. Now he was a good laugh at the table.
Geah - exactly as above really. I tracked him down a year or two ago and he plays backgammon now. He ran the 'overthegun' site.
Acari - still playing. Blew his bankroll having his roof repaired, then like the fighter that he is made it all back again.
Humpo - played with him 2 nights ago. He's just gone back to Vc after a long break.
Acmelabrat - ''relocated'' to the Philippines. I think he's Porty's next door neighbour.
Khazi - bumped into him a year or two back, still plays a good game.
Red Marauder - cracking good player was Red.
Hagenn - (Not sure of that spelling) - come across him a while ago, can't remember where.

There are lots more but my head hurts now.

ps. Pffa (play for fun always) was a delightful lady and was Porty's missus. I played no small part in getting them together as they used to argue like cat and dog on the 1808 forum. Played golf with her son once or twice too. Paula (Pffa) had a number of serious health issues and I hope she is well now.

Barney, ran the 1808gang website and his son Sparky still plays a bit as well as doing wedding photography , last I heard.

Porty is in the Phillipines now? Really? Is there a story to that?

Pfffa - yes, a lovely lady. Deserved better in life, I always felt. She was, as you say, quite unwell last time I saw her, in Grosvenor Stoke as I recall, some years back. I hope she is OK. Had a most pleasant daughter, too.

Think I'm happy to go with that.

I had a most embarrassing evening once in a place called Jesolo, Italy, quite near Venice. I was in the final of an Omaha Tourney, sat next to Thomas Kremser, with Marina, (they were not married at the time) also in the Final. Porty had had just a tad too much to drink, & kicked off. Nothing couild calm him down, & they ended up suspending the Tourney while it got sorted out. He was there with Dave Eastwood as I recall. Thomas said to me "he's a friend of yours, I gather"....

And he was. Well no, he was an acquaintance. He was a Member on blonde for a good while, but eventully we had to ban him, he went all silly on us. Very odd - nice when he was nice, an arsehole when we wanted to be. We've replaced him though.

Sry to bring up an old thread - it was hagen1808 i think.

Have just found this site/thread on via google reminice of the old days of tribecca - am thinking of perhaps picking up the cards again - is it still an ocean of fish?

Shout out to popdog and any of the old 1808 gang.

Work over took my poker playing and I lost touch with what happened to it all - I assuming with tribecca and the intimacy of the tables dissappearing everyone just drifted apart?

Popdog/Elsadog is a Member of this Forum, & plays over at Sky Poker & elsewhere these days.

"Royal Flush" became a WSOP bracelet winner, & owns a big lump of blondepoker.

Who'd have thunk?

I can't recall if he was RoyalFlush or mkkmoo on Tribeca, tbh, it's a while ago, sites, aliases, players come & go. He's a proper degen now, balla & everything, stakes players for fun.

Popdog (Alan) plays as "Elsadog" on Sky Poker.

So they were - what memories!

Tony Adderley was "Saints" or similar? M3Boy was, err, M3Boy.

At the time, almost without exception, players moaned & groaned about Tribeca software, & it's foibles. As soon as it closed, most lamented it's passing. How many times have you seen "I miss Tribeca, bring it back"?!

I do remember hector jelly very well - him and portfolio always got me with ak vs my aq - but cork was a different guy met up with him once in london.

Having some fun on sky poker - first time online in about 5 years and still got a buzz pushing all in on a 3 quid table (getting my feet wet slowly).
