Title: KING KONG Post by: The Baron on December 16, 2005, 01:22:19 AM Is great.
Jackson is awesome. I got scared, I squirmed, I laughed and I nearly cried. The action scenes are AMAZING and the scenes with the leading lady and KONG are amazing. On a slight downer, it's 3 hours long and there's one highly unbelievable scene. It also has some cheese shavings, though not much. Also I guess you could call it "Jurassic Park IV - The One With The Monkey". On the funny side I kept thinking of Tenacious D when I saw Jack Black. Don't let it stop you though. It's way ahead of your average "no need to think" action flick. It's very moving in places and if it doesn't clean up the effects awards at the Oscars I'll eat my hat. On a side note Adrian Brody just seems to get beter and better. Even in an action flick like this he's amazing. Seen the clips of KK fighting with the dinosaur and thought it might be a wee bit TOO realistic.

It involves prehistoric insects and a few grizzly deaths, I jumped about 8 times. I wouldn't recommend it. :) Title: Re: KING KONG Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 16, 2005, 02:13:03 AM By going AAAAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIIIIIINNNNNNNN ;) Kong flops his set, unfortunately the dinosaur, a creature not blessed with a huge brain, sets him all-in with AJ and runner runners a flush. I was the same with Lord Of the Rings - couldn't face being in a cinema for that long so I waited til the DVD came out and had a good old fashioned intermission half way through! I've lost the habit of going to the cinema, which is a shame, cause I used to enjoy it. Title: Re: KING KONG Post by: The Sweeney on December 17, 2005, 02:14:02 PM I also prefer to watch it at home. Not sure why?
A Very Merry Chrimbo to all..... I understand your thinking but you missed out there I think. The 2nd and 3rd LOTR films were absolutely amazing in the cinema and only fairly good at home on DVD. |
