Title: Thoughts required

Booking a table in restaurant in London on Friday- no tables for 2 available between 6 and 10, but can get a table for 4 at 7:30

Is it wrong to book the table for 4 and just turn up with 2 people? What would restaurants policy be?

Tell them that the other two are running late and that you're just going to just crack on with some starters, then go from there.

So long as you eat heaps, drink lots and don't pay with coupons; I can't see anyone being too bothered.

Should be OK unless the restauraunt becomes full n standing and other passengers customers ask if you mind if they join you.  ;)

Probably a stupid question, but is it an internet booking? Seems odd that you'd phone up for a table of two and they'd tell you they've only got a table for four. If it is just internet then obviously give them a call, would imagine they might well be able to move things about for you. Would imagine you might have thought of this already though.

You could phone up today and book for four, then phone to change it to two the day before.
