Title: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 19, 2010, 07:07:22 PM Just received a call from Betfair offering me some free bets. Almost forgot about this festival, but looks like I'll be having a stab at a few horses now. Bridget and I about to have a look at the card for tomorrow. If we find any we're mad about, I'll post them up in a bit.
Anyone else having a bet or two? Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 19, 2010, 07:52:03 PM 15:40 Outlaw Pete
16:20 Blackstairmountain, Flat Out, Tilabay (we're flipping a coin on this one once we see their odds) 16:55 Grand Opera 17:30 Double Double 18:05 Sizing Europe (we both like forpadydeplasterer but the fecker never manages the win...sigh) 18:40 Jandanli, The Midnight Club (sentimental reasons) 19:15 Baily Dusk That's tomorrow's lot out of the way for us. Good luck to ye if yer putting any bets on. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: bobby1 on April 19, 2010, 08:37:41 PM im a bit sick Laxie, was supposed to be flying 2morrow morning and going to the first two days but the Icelandic Volcano has put a stop to that.
Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 19, 2010, 08:43:13 PM Ugh! That's harsh. Especially since the weather over here is unusually lovely lately. Not considered the ferry?

Not considered the ferry? i left it too late but im about 30 mins from leeds/bradford airport so its a 50 min flight instead of getting to the ferry and then sailing. I was gambling that they might lift the ban in time to fly on Tuesday morning but alas they lifted it in time to fly Weds morning. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: chrisbruce on April 20, 2010, 03:41:17 PM I like

Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: outragous76 on April 20, 2010, 04:49:11 PM I'm also going to be on General Miller. I was on, im assuming the lack of yippees means we didnt come home? Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: chrisbruce on April 20, 2010, 05:07:34 PM Result was known a long way out

Ah well...on to tomorrow. Must wait until Bridget lands and we've had a glass of wine first. We tried picking them last night sans wine. All the signs of it too. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Somerled on April 20, 2010, 07:50:54 PM I like General Miller in the 4.20 and Twist Magic in the 6.05 good luck I really liked the look of this one too. Shame it didn't like the look of the course. ;madasahatstand; Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Matt.NFFC. on April 21, 2010, 10:09:42 AM Denman today anyone 13/8 ish????
Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Nico29 on April 21, 2010, 03:08:10 PM In the 530 denamn race i'd be looking for an ew shot. Possibly the fresh looking jonocol at about 11/2, most books go 1/4 the odds all punch races.
This makes the place part of this bet lovely, i think denamn could be tired from the gold cup, thus it's a nice race to play ew. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 21, 2010, 04:24:13 PM Sigh. Not looked at today's card yet and probably won't get time now. In-laws land in t-minus 15 and counting.

After a vbad week finally didn't tip a loser...it was a non runner. :) Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 04:44:46 PM Hadn't bothered with the past couple of days, but just spotted it on the telly and said I'd throw a few on and watch the races.
TY Ameretto Son!!! Couldn't decide between Got Attitude or Fisher Bridge for my e/w in the next, so will prolly just take a little of each...or flip a coin. Not decided yet. rotflmfao Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: chrisbruce on April 23, 2010, 05:31:13 PM Having a tickle on Dunguib in the 5.30.
4-1 seems fair if it was the Travelling or Cheltenham just didnt suit him. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 05:40:04 PM Voler La Vedette & Thousand Stars are the picks in this house. Granted, we're just a bunch of girls, so what do we know? rotflmfao
Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 06:05:52 PM tyvm Thousand Stars!!!
Next one we can't make up our minds again, sooooooo Duke of Lucca and Start Me Up are the picks. Have just cracked open a bottle of wine for the rest of the night's picks. It could get interesting. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 06:47:36 PM Good job we do them e/w so we can recover a bit from these silly picks. ty Duke ;)
Day of Destiny and Ionisphere e/w this time. The wine is kicking in, so win win either way! lol Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 07:01:40 PM We're rubbish at picking winners, but doing pretty well at grabbing some decent e/w horses. ty Day of Destiny!
Room full of women and we haven't agreed on a single race yet. rotflmfao Best we've managed to do is break into 2 camps per race, hence all the 2 horse bets. Next up, we've got Lonesome Dove & Quiet Thought. Title: Re: Punchestown Festival Post by: Laxie on April 23, 2010, 07:30:35 PM We got 'em well wrong that time.
Going with Cootamundra in the last. First one of the night where the lot of us agree because we thought the name was funny. Technical horse betting here. Loads of thought put into them. rotflmfao |
