Title: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 21, 2010, 08:57:15 PM i check called the river as i knew my chips were going in but if i shoved river i was only getting called if beat
but by check calling i might get him to shove with weaker hands is my thinking flawed? With 4021 chips left you are deep enough to come back if you fold though. I think you are beat here over 80% of the time. why had you decided all the chips were going in? Did you have a read on the player?
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 21, 2010, 09:17:41 PM i would of had 6500 if i folded
the way the hand played i though i would be happy with check check, but if he shoved 90% of time it was a bluff after i showed weakness Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: mondatoo on April 21, 2010, 09:19:35 PM I pretty much give up on the hand once he calls turn,c/f river
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 21, 2010, 09:33:26 PM I pretty much give up on the hand once he calls turn,c/f river what sort of range would you put him on ? i would have though (cash game wise) you need to put him bluffing 35% of time to make this a profitable call is this the same in MTT Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: mondatoo on April 21, 2010, 09:43:04 PM I pretty much give up on the hand once he calls turn,c/f river what sort of range would you put him on ? i would have though (cash game wise) you need to put him bluffing 35% of time to make this a profitable call is this the same in MTT Can't see what's in his range to call pre then call when you fire two streets and jams the river that you beat Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: MANTIS01 on April 22, 2010, 12:39:08 AM Seems like a pretty spewy line. No need to pot a perfect dry flop after villain calls from 2nd position imo. The pot gets out of control and your bet sizes are chiefly responsible. I don't see villain bluffing and think a flopped set or rivered two pair is much more likely.
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 22, 2010, 12:05:53 PM wow my last few hands posted i lost every agreed i didnt play bad, this one i won and everyone would fold, my read is unless he hit a set he would check behind river, rest of time the shove is a bluff not a vaule bet
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: gatso on April 22, 2010, 01:04:02 PM I quite like the river. what hand does he play that way up to the turn that the ace helps that isn't already beating us?
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: StuartHopkin on April 22, 2010, 01:48:51 PM I quite like the river. what hand does he play that way up to the turn that the ace helps that isn't already beating us? A9 sooooooooted Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: gatso on April 22, 2010, 04:06:49 PM I quite like the river. what hand does he play that way up to the turn that the ace helps that isn't already beating us? A9 sooooooooted of course. I missed the bit in the op where we had notes on him being a moron Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 23, 2010, 02:18:43 AM as i said i cant see what he flats with pre flats on flop and turn then shove the river apart from a set or a bluff
as it happens he must of though his middle pp was good A9 i think he checks, AJ i think he folds on flop so i cant really see the shove being a big hand Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Donko on April 23, 2010, 08:03:52 AM By check-calling all in you are giving your opponent negative freeroll.
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: gatso on April 23, 2010, 12:20:25 PM I quite like the river. what hand does he play that way up to the turn that the ace helps that isn't already beating us? You could say the same thing if we had 23o, that doesn't make it a call. Got no idea how we're ahead here ironside but wp, sick read. very much doubt we're playing 23o the same way tbh Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: mondatoo on April 23, 2010, 12:32:31 PM Far to much credit is being giving to the standard donk in these $10 comps, wpwp on sick read

Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: Ironside on April 23, 2010, 02:22:20 PM they are stu but they would rr on flop with tptk
Title: Re: horrid river OOP Post by: MC on April 23, 2010, 03:06:39 PM I like it Iron, wp imo
He's either got there with the A3, A5 or we're good. I guess occasionally he's played A9 or a set soflyt....but I think we're good a decent amount here.
