Title: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: nirvana on April 29, 2010, 10:09:27 PM I'm going to say that Gordon Brown just sounds tired and resigned. Clegg already sounds a bit shallow, bit samey and a bit irrelevant imo.
Out of 100 I score it thus: Cameron : 52 Brown: 28 Clegg: 20 Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Out of 100 I score it thus: Cameron : 52 Brown: 28 Clegg: 20 It was closer than that but I agree, Clegg was weaker than the other two by far....... Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: Cf on April 29, 2010, 10:16:48 PM Cameron seemed unable to actually answer a question.
Clegg seemed a bit out of his depth. Brown seemed to know what he was talking about. Whether he's right or not I don't know but he came across best from the three in my biew. Smile at the end was so bad tho Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: George2Loose on April 29, 2010, 10:18:13 PM Cameron didnt answer a question. So frustrating
Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: henrik777 on April 29, 2010, 10:26:19 PM Clegg was left out as Brown and Cameron went at it. Less tv time is bad. Brown did better than Cameron but as he is the man in power and it's tough times as well as not having a polished veneer Cameron probably wins the debate polls.

Nick Clegg gives me no clue of what he really stands for and just standing there huffing and puffing about 'old' parties, 'old' politics just doesn't do it for me. I hate the labour party because they are not socialists - except in the worse sense of creating huge state bureaucracies - but, are they for the common man, not on yer nelly imo I think my desire to see labour gone just lends me to viewing Cameron quite positively at the mo' Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? There was even people on here in previous weeks thinking Brown came out top which was totally lol. He did better this week, but for the last two weeks he was crap and it was just people listening what they want to hear from the person they want to win, nothing more. Brown has no chance of winning, I just hope he doesn't make it to a hung parliament. Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: George2Loose on April 29, 2010, 10:39:51 PM Also agree with what Charles said last week about Clegg overusing people's names. So annoying
Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: TightEnd on April 29, 2010, 10:41:56 PM I thought Brown had his best debate, but then he should...its his brief as Chancellor for a decade after all
Cameron looked fresh, the other two looked knackered Under scrutiny a lot of LidDem policies are really weak...the Amnesty on Illegal Immigrants and VAT on new homes in particular. Quite odd to see Cameron going at Clegg while Brown was left on the sidelines Narrow win for Cameron, probably still a hung parliament Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: nirvana on April 29, 2010, 10:45:58 PM I'm starting to think there will be a late and quite strong swing to the Tories.
Wouldn't object to strong swings to Lib Dems in traditionally strong labour seats Hung still fav but starting to think the Tories might just do it Shall we have our own focus group at DTD this weekend :-) Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: TightEnd on April 29, 2010, 10:50:53 PM Also think the LibDem policy on the Euro was brought into sharp focus...very tricky indeed to see a circumstance where it would be right to enter it
most of all though..VAT on new homes.... ;dingdell; Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: Claw75 on April 29, 2010, 10:50:58 PM Shall we have our own focus group at DTD this weekend :-) [ ] good idea just bring the scrabble imo Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: Maxriddles on April 29, 2010, 11:06:49 PM I genuinely had no idea at the start of the campaign where my vote would be going this time but tonight's debate has gone a long way in helping me decide. I had seriously been considering voting Lib Dem for the first time ever but tonight's debate has opened my eyes to some Lib Dem policies I was unaware of.
As for VAT on new homes that's just crazy talk. Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? :( Title: Re: So who came out on top tonight ? Post by: MANTIS01 on April 29, 2010, 11:19:03 PM Cameron a clear winner with a polished performance. Clegg delivered some really strong policies in the shape of the tax threshold, pensions and child development, but some of his other policies are lunacy. Lol at Clegg angling for a hung parliament with the let's all get together round a table line. What a terrible idea. He got left behind in places. Agree Brown was better, but any progress he made was instantly washed away when he smiled and frightened children at the end.
