Title: Interesting spot in rush poker 50nl 6mx Post by: Sack it off on May 15, 2010, 08:43:30 PM Decided to grind rush poker to see if I had a higher win rate. Started at 50nl and got myself into this really tricky spot, especially with stack sizes.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?5438320 I opened A4s as I find in rush at least one out of the 3 remaining players to act will have folded and be on to their next hand. And A4s plays well post flop. I have no read on the villain as its rush poker and no notes or stats. I would like to focus primarily on the turn decision. Thoughts? All your action suggests you have an ace so the check raise is very stong. He follows up on the river, you only beat A3 or A2 if he has an Ace. Otherwise he flopped a set and has filled up.

i doubt he expects you to fold an ace so almost definitely behind here. easy fold, no? You can 2 table but get the hands in as if you were 8 tabling. Which means you get about 700 hands per hour but you have plenty time to act, unlike playing more tables your decision making is definitely made worse by having the pressure of other hands waiting. There's also more fish. And as for rush tournaments, OMG.. 1000 players down to 100 in an hour?? 300 hands per hour, no competition Title: Re: Interesting spot in rush poker 50nl 6mx Post by: poonjoe on May 20, 2010, 04:18:08 PM Reluctant fold.
Its an interesting spot because he is representing such a narrow range, BUT he rarely has anything but that narrow range. i) He is saying 'I flopped a str8' or 'I flopped a set and decided to slow play it on this textured board' or 'I peeled the flop with one pair A-kicker and backed into a boat' or... ii) 'I have a missed spade draw that i weirdly decided to raise on the turn. I have Tom Dwan hand reading abilities and realise that I can make you fold trips with a weak kicker, or a spade draw if you have one also' i) makes sense to me, ii) doesnt, I fold. |
