And yeah as already mentioned, CB flop Title: Re: 1st Level in the $320 f/o on Stars Post by: Cottonbud on May 27, 2010, 06:11:30 AM Just to explain reasons I don't c-bet the flop...
I'm not really happy getting it in on this flop in the 1st blind level. I want to disguise my hand. My thoughts are pretty much this.. my hand is so under-repped how can I possibly fold. I'm losing to like 3 hands 10-10/9-9/K-K and he could easily shove AK/KQ on the river to try and get me to hero with QQ/JJ as that's what my hand looks exactly like. Title: Re: 1st Level in the $320 f/o on Stars Post by: Sack it off on May 27, 2010, 06:30:25 AM If he shoves KQ and AK on the river why wouldn't he do it on the flop?

James, if you want to disguise your hand then reraising an UTG raiser in the first level of the tournament is not the best way to do this. ;) Title: Re: 1st Level in the $320 f/o on Stars Post by: The Camel on May 27, 2010, 06:46:06 AM The more I think about this hand, the more I like the way the OP has played it.
It really does look like QQ or JJ. Please don't ruin it by folding the river. Title: Re: 1st Level in the $320 f/o on Stars Post by: the rage on May 27, 2010, 09:13:58 AM I really like the way the hand was played. I would call here. You may only be chopping it though. :)

I think if he is any good he will just flat these type of hands on the flop and raise everything that has us beat. Although he may flat sets too I'm not sure how he plays. Title: Re: 1st Level in the $320 f/o on Stars Post by: Cottonbud on May 27, 2010, 04:27:07 PM I could flat pre not a bad idea. But then I've seen guys get in AK and QQ in the 1st level of comps like this so I wanted to give them the chance to do it again :-).

But thinking about it if this is an average Joe type player is he really gonna go for 3 streets of value with just one pair. I find alot of players shut down on the river thinking we won't call worse or they just get a bit scared that they might be beat. Even though my hand looks like Queens or Jacks does he really show up with AK and KQ that often?
