Title: Marginal Hand, Decisive Action... Post by: poonjoe on May 28, 2010, 06:54:33 PM I'm posting this one coz to me every street seemed like there was one clear option. Perhaps if you guys disagree that would be helpful :)
I know its small stakes but I think there are some key considerations re: position, strength of AKs v 3bet, stack sizes and board texture. I'll take it street by street and hope to get some replies. Both MP and Button are regulars playing 21/17 agg factor 2.7, going to showdown 26% and 31% respectively. The 3bettor has a 3bet frequency of 4%. Title: Re: Marginal Hand, Decisive Action... Post by: EvilPie on May 28, 2010, 11:03:15 PM Call is fine.
Don't like the turn bet at all though. If you hit you can make this play because you're under repped. Here you're trying to rep something oop big against a guy who's 3 bet pre and then decided to check a dry board instead of c betting. Alarm bells should be ringing and you shouldn't be investing anything else in to this pot.. Title: Re: Marginal Hand, Decisive Action... Post by: pleno1 on May 28, 2010, 11:57:10 PM Call is fine. Post by: poonjoe on May 29, 2010, 03:07:39 PM It seems that MP checked a set on the flop hoping to get action from the CO, like a snake in the grass waiting to pounce. During the hand I just thought 'they both checked that flop, perhaps they haven't got anything after all'. I didn't consider that MP would be likely to trap-check given his position, or just how many hand combinations hit that board really hard.
I suppose I should have just shut down. Title: Re: Marginal Hand, Decisive Action... Post by: buzzharvey22 on May 29, 2010, 03:35:38 PM 4 bet huuuuge
