Title: There are very few possible hands I beat, but I want to be a hero. Post by: pleno1 on May 29, 2010, 09:26:38 PM Live tournie, blinds are 100/200, I have 35k, average is like 8200 and villain has 17/18k.
Villain is a rich businessman, talking about recent business trips to Dubai, New York and Norway. He is wearing carky three quarters/polo tucked in, white socks and sandals. My image is very very loose, I've 4bet shoved 3 times in the first 2 levels. Since we came back from break (5 hands) I've opened every hand cbetting and taking it on 3 occasion, 4betting once, other time was the previous hand against same villain. Previous hand we had got it all in with 66vhis AKss and he had doubled up. In this hand I had raised to 400, he had 3bet to 1000 and we got it all in on a 752ss flop and he hit a flush on the river. In this hand I raise from utg+1 w/ Ahrt Qh to 500, villain raises from sb to 2500 and we flat. Flop is Jh Td 2s. He looks at board and checks, I check behind. Turn is 8h and he bets 5000 quickly. I call. River is 7c and he thinks for about 2/3 seconds and Jams for 8300. Whilst I'm tanking I ask if he will show and he sais yeh definitely. He is shaking a little bit and keeps eye contact with me for the whole 2 minutes +. Not sure whether to give my own rationale, but my thinking was that he didn't have many 9's in his range that would 3bet pre and then check the flop and 5k pot bet the turn. If he had a set/2 pair I thought he'd at least think about checking. I am are I beat very few hands here, and most hands he is bluffing with are beating me too. Thoughts? Doesn't look like he has enough to bluff you with a half pot bet on the river. KQ is the only real bluff hand and again I'd expect him to bet the flop but live players take retarded lines and he was possibly expecting to c-raise you with that hand Title: Re: There are very few possible hands I beat, but I want to be a hero. Post by: NigDawG on May 29, 2010, 10:02:57 PM don't like it. i mean you don't even beat many of his bluffs....
i'd probs just jam turn Title: Re: There are very few possible hands I beat, but I want to be a hero. Post by: pleno1 on May 29, 2010, 10:16:28 PM don't like it. i mean you don't even beat many of his bluffs.... i'd probs just jam turn yeh i wanted to. thought i would fold out all his air and just called by slowplayed sets. i guess the pot is big enough though. thought if i just call and call any river then would be better as I have 8 outs to nut straights and 10 for nut flush (taking away cards he has) Title: Re: There are very few possible hands I beat, but I want to be a hero. Thoughts? reading into that, he's either a tard or a genius. either way, i would probably fold and just stare in dismay at his footwear dress sense. maybe even compliment him on it as a bluff. Pete no offence but no I wont stop saying it. I'm no more of an online player than a live player but fact of the matter is there are a hell of a lot more bad live players willing to play stakes that very few bad online players play. Just because you're one of the few who are good it doesn't mean that most aren't really bad. Title: Re: There are very few possible hands I beat, but I want to be a hero.
