my sister was one of the  80 finialists on the show on launch night.  It was between her and that dublin girl.  the asked both to strip and and pose on the spot and the dublin girl did and also asked both would they sleep with a random stranger for £100.   The dubliner said yes.  that why she got in.  now shes all quiet and shy.   When the first 6 got in she was praying that she didnt get picked.

This is one quiet thread this year but there's a standout bet now imo - Josie.
Same as last year there are only one or two that can win and five of the top seven in the market are male.
The ONLY two females with a chance are Corin and Josie.
Apologies to northern folk, but betting is betting, and Corin will do well to pick up a single vote south of Preston. That voice will get more annoying with time imo and, while thick is good in a BB contestant, she is too thick. Ridicu-thick.
When we get down to the final six or so a lot hinges on how highlight shows are edited, especially with the live coverage not viewed by anything like as many as five or so years ago and, as 12 months ago, producers will want at least one female in the final three. That'll be Josie imo.
Anything around the current 8- or 9-1 on betty is value for me. At least as a tradeback opportunity. I think she'll win it.
Watching the last couple of BBLB's she's the only universally popular housemate at the moment.

Dave can't win. Religion never popular and that 'drunk on the love of our lord' episode was painful.
Caoimhe can't win. Too Irish and it's felt she's been leading on Shabby. Sunshine can't win for obvious reasons.
Steve is likeable and should go deep but too old to appeal to most of the voters. Can't see John James seeing out the distance. Could well end up walking and just too argumentative. Habitual arguers have never won, with the exception of Jade.
Mario just seems a bit sneaky somehow.
Ben is utterly humourless and will end up doing lookalike work as Flushy's double. Nobody that well spoken ever does much in reality shows.
Shabby could well make the final at a big price. Defo the best outsider.
For whatever reason the editors haven't taken to Ife and Nathan. They'd need to do something major to get in the shake up.

I can't see anyone outside of John James, Andrew and Ben winning it atm. I said from the start its the turn of a male winner this year but i wasn't sure we had the characters but they are starting to emerge.

Very interesting book at the moment because of what's coming on Friday. Pepper is probably around 1/10 to be one of the four evicted, hence his outright price drifting from around 3 to 16.

There will only be five left on Saturday morning and I think that'll be Josie, Corin, Mario, Andrew and JJ (JJ not John James).

Corin's price at the moment is a joke and, if Pepper goes and she stays, she could be layable at below 3. That would be one of the bets of the year. She just can't win. She's come in a bit in recent days because of what's been perceived as bullying but she ticks none of the boxes in a BB winner. She's perceived as fake. She is unbelievably thick (what is a pope?) and vain, and she is not entertaining.

They have messed up the final few days by getting the orange atrocity and Pepper booted out but they made it pretty clear from the early edits they wanted Josie to win this one, and she will. She's a deserving winner and would've won whatever I reckon.

I still think there is some mileage left in the BB betting this year. I'm defo not laying off any of my Josie dimez but elsewhere there's a fascinating shape to the top male market.
Voting for who you want to win and who you want to evict and two completely different things and so far this series there has been no 'vote for winner' thingy. So there is a bit of guesswork involved for all of us.
Mid-Atlantic Mario is as big a fake as has ever been in the house for me, while I can't have it that the JLS generation will pick up the phone and vote for 'drunk on God' Dave. ?Yet those two are the two favourites.
This market is upside down imo.
Andrew could well be the one to finish second but I'm all over Himbo at double-figure prices.

So hoping Sam Pepper would go back in. Gutted not to get the irrepressible dark horse back in there.

Bit grumpy I missed the 8/1 that Boyles put up on Josie following up with the Ultimate win.  Had her at 18's for the other one and should have known momentum would keep the price low.

So many of these people seem to not be popular at all judging by the boos etc. on entry so would appear to be few contenders.  So far only had a bit on Nikki at 10/1 but more because it seemed like a value price than any real optimism for her winning.

Ridic bad line up for UBB, although there's gonna be plenty of fireworks. No Pepper? No Pete Bennett? No Brian Bellend?

Richard Desmond is in talks to take Big Brother to Channel 5 next year.

The show's run on Channel 4 is to end next month, with last night's Big Brother 11 final to be followed by two and a half weeks of Ultimate Big Brother to find the most popular housemate from the past 10 years.

Talks are now said to be in progress between Channel 5 and Big Brother producer Endemol UK.

However, it is understood the full details of the deal are still to be finalised and no announcement is imminent.

Northern & Shell and Channel 5 declined to comment.

Desmond has publicly declared his interest in buying the series, despite the fact that many observers believe it is a tired format.

Channel 4 announced last year the 11th series would be the last. It will end with the Ultimate Big Brother final on Friday, 10 September.

Last night's Big Brother 11 winner Josie Gibson has been joined by 11 former housemates, including Ulrika Jonsson, Brian Dowling, Nick Bateman and Nadia Almada, for the show's final fling on Channel 4.

Northern & Shell, Desmond's privately owned media group, originally teamed up with Endemol with the intention of mounting a joint bid for the UK's fourth largest terrestrial channel.

But Desmond eventually bought Channel 5 last month from pan-European broadcaster RTL for £103.5m without the need for a partner.

Channel 4 signed a three-year contract with Endemol for Big Brother in 2006, which was said at the time to be worth up to £70m.

The first three-year deal Channel 4 signed with Endemol for Big Brother in 2002 was understood to have cost the broadcaster up to £40m.

Desmond is likely to pay far less than that. One senior TV industry insider said that £30m might be a more realistic figure now that the show's popularity has waned.

Big Brother's ratings peaked in 2002 with series three, won by Kate Lawler. The series averaged 5.3 million viewers, with 9.2 million for the final.

Average viewing figures for the main summer series remained over 4 million for the next four years, before beginning to dip in 2007 after the Shilpa Shetty race row engulfed Celebrity Big Brother.

In 2009 Big Brother 10 averaged about 2.2 million. This year's final Big Brother series on Channel 4 has seen an improvement in ratings, but it is still nowhere near the show's pre-2007 heyday.

Endemol has spent heavily on the Big Brother house and related studio facilities at Elstree in Hertfordshire and the show also employs a large dedicated staff.

Closing or mothballing the studio and moving employees to other parts of the business would be costly and Endemol is likely to need a swift decision on whether the show will continue next year on Channel 5.

Desmond's newspaper and magazine empire, which also includes the Daily Star, OK! and New!, would be free to promote the show heavily if he can agree terms with Endemol, providing it with valuable free publicity. Under cross-ownership rules, he is barred from promoting his print titles on Channel 5.

He is likely to reinstate Celebrity Big Brother and may extend the main show's 13-week run if he can secure a deal.

Channel 5 is heavily dependent on imported US shows including the CSI franchise and its spin-off series, but it has so far failed to produce a homegrown hit with the clout of Big Brother.

Big Brother would instantly become the broadcaster's biggest asset. If a deal can be concluded, the challenge will be to prove that there is still an appetite for the show among the viewing public

Popularity has wained but the show itself has been better than ever the last two years. Bad move CH4 imo. Even if they shifted the highlights show to 11pm or whatever, there's a dedicated hardcore of fans out there.

Just hope CH5 get it next year and keep most of the production team (not Davina please).

Last series was back to it's best but disagree. Thing it's the right time for BB to go.
