Title: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: outragous76 on July 12, 2010, 03:28:40 PM OK - this tourney only attracted 9 players, paying 3 and there are either 5 or 6 left (if 6 then he is short)
Villain has proven to be a good player during the course of the game, fairly aggro, internet kid - is happy to 3 and 4 bet. He has opened a tonne of pots, but was assisted by having 2 table nits to his left Both the villain and I are fairly chipped but playing circa 23k - but has me covered Villain opens to 1000 @ 200 400 50 I flat call on button with Ad Td Flop 4 T 7 rainbow he checks (pretty much the first time he hasn't c-bet - and i comment to that effect). I check behind for pot control given his lack of c bet and not wanting to get c/r off my hand turn came a blank maybe a 2 - , He bets about 1600, I call river comes a 4 he checks so I go for value and bet about 2750, at which point he fairly quickly makes it 8k is my hand ever good? WWYD? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: action man on July 12, 2010, 03:32:50 PM id unreg, and play a sng online with less juice. sheffield poker is a joke and has been for 5 years

id probably call tho, as im the biggest station live. hope to see 89? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: StuartHopkin on July 12, 2010, 03:43:01 PM Beat me to it Trigg
Fold pre tournament start imo I probs make the call here, to catch de bluffs and de worse tenskis. Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: GreekStein on July 12, 2010, 03:59:53 PM I bet flop.
I cawl now. Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: boldie on July 12, 2010, 04:06:43 PM Yuck, he could just think that your comment means you're scared and can therefore be check raised off a hand.
88-99 definitely in his range, as is 77. feck it, I'll call and feel like a tool when he flips the nuts. Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: Eso Kral on July 12, 2010, 04:22:41 PM IMO i play it the same as you and call the reraise as your still not short in relation to the blinds if you lose
What was the result, what did you do? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: outragous76 on July 12, 2010, 05:38:42 PM D morgan - i see your on line - this is our hand - please feel free to add your thoughts - maybe even about what you put me on
(and dont pull the hand to pieces if i got it wrong! - ) - also can you remember the turn? it could have been a Q? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: TightEnd on July 12, 2010, 05:53:25 PM I think I call here too
You've played it for pot control/weak. check flop, call turn, I reckon he doesn't have you as strong at all, which after all would be a correct enough read Call. Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: outragous76 on July 12, 2010, 06:29:05 PM Ok
well I tanked farily hard on this. I was genuinely surprised when he checked it to me, im pretty sure it was the first time he hadnt c bet (against a non small stack who had flatted). I thought that he would bet if he hit any part of the flop with 1 pair, so took those hands outs of his range. He could have flopped a set but 44 and TT are v unlikely so other than 77 i wasnt too concerned. I was very focused on the 89 potential, and knew that he would be capable of bluffing as played. Also 88 99 are in there too. I just couldnt see how I was beat, and figured I had played the hand so weak that he didnt have me on AT, and that he thought I could well have air too. Therefore, if he had nothing there was only 1 way to win (although I guess he could have led into me). So I called he showed A4 - sigh there is a good follow up hand which i will post later Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: EvilPie on July 12, 2010, 06:29:34 PM D morgan - i see your on line - this is our hand - please feel free to add your thoughts - maybe even about what you put me on (and dont pull the hand to pieces if i got it wrong! - ) - also can you remember the turn? it could have been a Q? This is quite important. The Q isn't exactly the blank 2 that you describe in the OP. As for the hand I call for the same reason as Trigg. I just refuse to believe anybody and like to look good when I make hero calls. But there was nothing 2 pr or str8 about the baord im pretty sure it was a blank Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: DMorgan on July 12, 2010, 07:22:34 PM The turn wasn't a Q, is was a blank I'm pretty sure, a 3 or something.
I'm also pretty sure that the turn went check check aswell? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: GreekStein on July 12, 2010, 08:21:19 PM if villain was D Morgan you can safely valueshove 88 here :P
Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: MC on July 13, 2010, 12:03:51 PM I call too...
Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: BulldozerD on July 13, 2010, 12:34:03 PM i'd prolly b/f vs most players. if villain is good/tricky i would have a river plan though so i'd bet/call if i think he is capable of a bluffing line like this, but i think its pretty thin.

If you take those pairs out using the same logic what hands are you seeking value from with your river value bet? Title: Re: Hand from 200 FO @ sheffield Post by: outragous76 on July 13, 2010, 07:02:17 PM Any T, worse pairs, and even A high vs this villain!
