Title: Can we pass? Post by: Cf on July 13, 2010, 01:23:10 PM Final table of a £20 f/o with £1k added. Top 7 getting paid, though 3x£20 savers have been agreed. Currently 8 left, which there has been for about an hour and a bit now.
Blinds are 6000/12000-1000 with an average of ~70k. Villain one (who has been one of the more active players at the table) shoves for about 40k. Villain two (who has been one of the tighter players at the table, except for an earlier call with KJ) reshoves for about 70k. This concerns us, we think he's pretty much got it here. We're in the small blind and have 6k invested of our 11k stack. We look down at 6d 9d. It's pretty obviously behind here given the action. And there's still the big blind to act after us. Should we fold hoping for the bubble to burst and then try and get our stack in first in a future hand? Title: Re: Can we pass? Unless you've completely messed up the HH or it's just a big level of some sort then of course you have to call. You have 5k left if you pass and you're thinking about "getting it in first" with the blinds at 6k/12k? Erm....... doesn't quite work mate. Actually scrap everything I've just said. I think it's a level. Yes I'm convinced it must be a level. Either that or can you please post the correct blinds / stacks. Thanks. Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: david3103 on July 13, 2010, 01:28:58 PM we'll have 5k left and antes are 1,000?
Folding is only an option if 7th gets a lot more than £20 - unless Paul the Psychic Octopus says we're getting AA next hand Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: boldie on July 13, 2010, 01:29:51 PM just call, it's not even a tough decision.

Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: EvilPie on July 13, 2010, 01:31:07 PM Think I've figured it out.
CF actually has 110k not 11k. Yes that must be the mistake. I can't see what else it could be. Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: EvilPie on July 13, 2010, 01:36:35 PM To be honest your chips should've been in the middle befoe you even looked.
When you got round to looking you should've felt a warm glow inside when you realised you actually had a hand that could fair quite nicely in a 3 way pot with about 10 to 1 pot odds. Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: NoflopsHomer on July 13, 2010, 01:39:11 PM So sick that hero managed to outlast me in the comp as I had 155k at this point.

Does this tilt anyone else? a £20 saver?? Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: EvilPie on July 13, 2010, 01:41:25 PM I've just read the HH again. You say you've been on the bubble for over an hour with stacks this short!?!?!?
How the hell has that happened and why didn't someone realise what was happening and take advantage? Or have you just come back from a 55 minute break? Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: Cf on July 13, 2010, 01:43:28 PM I'm pretty dissapointed that only one person has called me out for levelling here.
I was not hero in this hand. I wasn't involved, was utg. But it is a real hand. And hero did actually fold for the reasons given above! I couldn't believe it. Needless to say the bubble didn't burst and hero then proceeded to 4x up in the next hand and on we went. Was a pretty ridiculous final table (short stacks couldn't lose a single showdown, and table was playing tightish in the first place), but did make me happy cos not only do we have 1k added we also have numpties playing who have no clue about poker. Does this tilt anyone else? a £20 saver?? I used to not like them but £60 out of £2100 to hopefully hurry the game along a bit seems ok to me. Didn't work tho. Title: Re: Can we pass? I used to not like them but £60 out of £2100 to hopefully hurry the game along a bit seems ok to me. Didn't work tho. It never really works because £20 doesn't make a bit of difference to anyone. In a bigger buy-in tourney where the entry fee means something to most players there it would though. Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: LeedsRhodesy on July 13, 2010, 02:22:39 PM lol i said no to a £20 saver last time and 3 of the guys nearly started on me lol Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: stato_1 on July 13, 2010, 02:43:26 PM The main reason you shouldnt agree to a saver is that the bubble is where you can massively chip up just because bad villains make gutwrenchingly awful mistakes such as this one, so you want to make this period of insanity last as long as you possibly can.

Also, CF can't get there with Aspades Js vs Ac Ad on a Jc 2s 3s board and I can't get there with Ac 9c vs Ahrt Qd after a flop comes Tc 8c 7h Was awesome fun though when it was me, CF and Chris Gregg (he's discosomethingorother on here) were playing the same table. Favourite com hands: Guy limps for 1,200. Another guy makes it 4,900 with 1,300 behind. SB peels, limper peels. Flop is A86, checked to raiser who snap-jams. SB tank-calls (after the flop we were thinking both callers were gonna fold) limper calls. turn is a blank, river a 6. Raiser shows 86o for a boat lolololol. Weak/passive guy who has limped loads and folded to every raise but has not raised a single hand makes it 10k UTG to go at 1500/3000. Passed to the big blind who jams for 27k. UTG tanks tanks tanks, counts out chips, eventually calls with Kings. BB had Q8o and we didn't know what was funnier, the unintentionally hilarious slowroll or the fact this guy has not raised a hand in about 2hrs and bb has chosen this spot to jam with no FE... Title: Re: Can we pass? Post by: Cf on July 13, 2010, 03:57:53 PM Yup, those two were brilliant.
The other funny thing about the guy left with 1,300 behind was that he thought that his massive stack of 50s/25s only added up to 300. Title: Re: Can we pass?
