Following on from last seasons league, are we doing this again in readiness for the forthcoming league campaign.

I can't remember who ran this last year, I remember I was crap and came 2nd bottom I think! but was enjoyable.  Can we do this again people.

I was messing about on this today and done a very rough squad, the two blonde leagues i was in last year are still showing up on my acct as if i have already entered them, is that the way it works or whats the story? I see Kinboshi's name on the lists so maybe he knows ?

How rules will you use for people neediing at least 'x' amount of players different per team?

When I reset the league this a.m about 5 players came up as already registered for the league - I assume they have been active on the site prior to me confirming the league would re run.
If Mr Boshi closes his league and we can then replace it with Mr Greeks Pay league everything should be fine.

Can't see the point in a play league.  And with one league it will be easier to oversee, and all posts on this thread would relate to that league only rather than loads of posts asking questions on this league and that league.....could make it a little difficult to follow for the likes of eeerrrrr me!

I'd like to do £50 as its a whole season and I'd prob not update my team as much/keep pace for any less but happy to go with the flow and don't want anyone excluded.

Why not do two leagues one £20, one £30, for £50 total. Everyone plays in the £20 league, those that want to top up to £50 have their own league as well. This is how it has worked before on, uh-hum, the Hendon Mob forum :)

I'm in for a £50 league, it would be nice to have a decent wedge to play for, seeing as it lasts for a whole season, it would keep people motivated and make it more interesting IMO.

I really don't like the layout of this one at all so it'd be a case of picking a team and never looking again so although I am quite wasteful with money I have to pass,sorry to disappoint Mr Cos Restis.

I'm in on the proviso that it's not winner take all (unless there's only like five or six of us).

I know it's nitty but if there's a run away leader half way through the season I know I'm gonna lose interest and probably give up if there's no runners up spots being paid.

It might be better to open the league up and anyone who hasn't paid by the start is either punted out, if you can do that, or isn't counted at the business end.

im in, won both my leagues last year (classic and head to head) so watch out !!!! lol . I think the head to head league is better as then you play against everybody and dont rely on defoe or rooney to score four goals against wigan to get you points.

Ringer (new 300 posts minimum rule imo)

My brother and a mate of mine will probably play in this , they both played last years but only set up accounts on here so that they could play. So theres no way they will ever make 300 posts. If people put there money up what difference or what advantage can people gain by being under 300 posts or whatever.

i was only joking but after a bit more thought i have to say that there are a hell of a lot of people who play these really religiously and know all the tricks etc.

What score did last years winner get? i bet it was not even top 10,000, if anyone can play and there is £500 for the winner say then i'd go odds on we get 1 or 2 ringers who we have almost no chance of beating.

well IIRC there was like 2.3 million players entered so top 10,000 would have been  very very creditable.

24,000th, but I was playing to win the Blonde league not going for overall ranking. Its getting harder though, I was 20,000th the year before with nearly 300 points less.

no probs lol, im not a ringer, i play at dtd a lot and live local, its just that i dont make many posts, will do in future. Its a tough league, its hard to have a squad of 15 players when you have only 100 million so you need to pick at least 5 players around 6 million if you want expensive stars

There is an advantage, you could have a team set but not enter a specific league then join it with the points you already have accumulated.

They weren't that bad but had to do a bit of re-jigging and then just went the whole hog, think maybe only 3/15 of my original squad are left. Didn't have a lot of time to pick my original team and obv did a bad job of it.

I used my Wildcard very hastily last year, maybe GW 5 or something like that, I'm hoping this year to hold on a bit longer, but at least you have a Wildcard to use again in January. So its not all bad.

Beware the rule change this year 2 Wildcards FTW . . . .

You can play 2 transfer wildcards a season. One wildcard can be played at anytime, the other can only be used between Gameweeks 23 and 27. This extra wildcard will be available after the start of Gameweek 22 (4 Jan 19:30) up to the Gameweek 27 deadline (12 Feb 11:30). All transfers made in the Gameweek your wildcard is played will be without points deduction. You play your wild card when confirming transfers.

Any transfers you make will become active at the next deadline. From the FA Premier League Site

what a nightmare!!!!! i was going to send you my details to you and my computer broke. the motherboard was knackered and i had to buy a new laptop and get all my data transfered. i got it back yesterday and got rigged up again just now. i would of joined the 50 pound comp and even if i did (and still could) my 1st weeks total would not be added. i wouldnt mind playing as 80 points would be hard but not impossible to catch up, if not and any of the other ten object then i will understand and will just play the freebee.

I was just gona run a Blonde £20 one, paying like 60/25/15. Plenty of people seem keen and can't possibly do any worse than Turkenstein did last year. £20 won't alienate anyone surely?

Coz Fantasy Football is great banter but I can never be bothered to keep doing my team every week so it would be good to do an epic one this year, really competitive and plenty of discussion about transfers and league positions etc.

The Sun Dream team is free this year. Don't think that will sway anyone though. Think when it was raised previously majority of people like changing their team weekly but personally I can't be arsed.

yup - this is best site and to be competitive you do need to keep on top of it.  I am easy about entry costs as i am absolutely loaded but realise the fiddy we did last year put a few people off.

Not sure about talking strategy... i'm quite a specialist at this game and won't be tapping the tank :-)
