Title: Staking scandal
Post by: Herbie H on August 04, 2010, 06:24:11 AM
After the recent news on here, did everyone receive their money back?

As I wrote a article about it originally and if it has all been cleared up I would like to write another to acknowledge the fact.

Sounds to me like you shouldn't be writing articles about which you know nothing!

Not sure what you mean by that, I thought this was a public forum and why is a bad thing to give a good ending to a bad story?

An objective article by someone not involved, who writes well, wouldn't be that unreasonable.

If Herbie H knows someone like that he could get them to write it.

Perhaps you should write one then, Big boy!

Journalists have to be generalists sometimes.

They need to know lots about that writing style, be able to construct a narrative from disparate events and speedily produce something that is entertaining to read.

To sub for specialist knowledge they need good people skills, cultivating contacts and pumping them for info and insight and what have you.

Sure pretty much every other poker player also seems to be a poker journalist, but they mostly produce things for other poker players to read and find it difficult to write an on topic piece which will be of general interest.

Depending on the intended audience, and so long as you've got the journo skillz to get up to speed and grasp the basics quickly, a certain amount of ignorance can be an asset because you approach with an open mind, give a fresh perspective and produce something of interest to the general reader..

Not saying Herbie H has all or any of these skills, just talking in the general sense here.

I do not wish for a bitch fight from the old pals act, I am purely asking whether the story has a happy ending?

No big deal really Jon!

Lol

Old pals, I think you have just misread that one! No one cares what you write about Blatch.

The fact you dont know what's happened means your obviously pretty distant from the story, facts and people involved.

Not really a good ending.

blatch is still a sick puppy and he's dikked his family instead of a bunch of poker players. Or more acurately, he's now dikked his family in addiition to dikking a bunch of poker players.

A small poker forum type thing, who are just starting out I won't give the name out, because I don't want the fools amongst us to come back on here and say you are talking about my friend type BS.

Thanks for that. I will give an update and say it all was sorted. I have seen worse things than that with people with a gambling problem.

I did not rubbish the man at all, I just wrote about it from what I read on here.

Which one?

You could probably write a book of short stories about the grims on blonde in the last couple of years.

At least he's famous, if you type him into google you get lots of neil blatchly - scam, neil blatchly - scum etc.

Good on his folks for paying everybody, if i asked my my mum for a 100k to pay off some gambling debts she'd laugh her tits off, i hope he repays them by being a decent human from now.

I would like an update on the state of Neil's head to be honest and if he's kept up GA and how he is getting on etc, he has got a serious problem after all. He could start a diary on blonde maybe? ;D

I wonder if we will ever see him again, across a poker table, now everyone 's been repaid.

Obviously he will be told not to ever gamble again.....but with up to 100k to repay to his family,.......  I would try and satellite cheaply into some big buy in comps, and hope for the best. ;)

Fair play to the guy and his family for paying everyone in full.
