Title: Standard preflop but prompted debate
Post by: Splash on August 19, 2010, 11:05:25 AM
$100 FO online.   About 110 runners with about  25-30 left and 15 paid.

Blinds 100-200 with 25 ante.   You have about 7k chips and have been moderately active.  No real  info on V but he not been in every pot or overly active.

Find  Th Ts UTG and make std raise to 650.

Early/mid pos player has about 8k puts in a RR to 2700.

Ship or await a better spot?

Raise less pre

Sail the ship now, his raise size deserves it.

Smash the screen if he shows JJ hold against everything else.

I fold here, doubt he's ever doing this with 99 vs UTG raiser, especially with the oversized raise and so many to act behind plus he's never folding. If table is tough I suppose you can get it in but if it's weak, you'll be able to find easier spots. And it also looks like his raise size means he plays face-up. You're probably flipping but...meh.

FWIW I'd raise less so I have more FE if I wanted to jam. I'd probably raise to 505, maybe 503 if I was feeling goofy.

with antes it really does cost you money long run to raise anything more than 3x with your entire range,

I think I would g g g g et it in and hope no A's or K's come.

I like this raise pre and a pass to the raise.
