Title: Heads Up War. 3 Interesting Spots...
Post by: SuuPRlim on August 19, 2010, 01:24:49 PM
HU battle vs monkily aggro Scandi he plays about 47/43/33 which even HU is pretty nuts.

He is wildly unpredictable, when he bnarrels 3 he leads for pot pretty much every street, have about 500 hands with him and I've seen him make 2nd pair call offs and bet fold for half my stack etc so he's full of moves.

Wondered what people think of these spots.

Who calls/folds, all broadway wraps/hearts have missed...exactly how thin a value range do we think he has, i.e would people expect him to Vbet 2p hands, and would people expect him to barrel again with all the missed draws?

Snapping hand 1. Sigh folding 2 and check-calling 3.

I'm calling hand 1

Hand 2 I really wanna call but it really sucks when we get shown the 4568dd. I dunno, its close and I don't really think that either option is gunna be a big mistake in the long run

Hand 3 I just c/f the flop, but I'm a noob at HU PLO, still learning.

Yeah, hand 3 is kinda strange. I take these lines often vs active opponents like Rabatzki cos I have a hand that is marginally favourite over his entire range to open the btn and cbet, (fwiw i often lead these hands as well) but I c/raise vs players that c-bet too wide because I prefer it to check/calling because I have to fold so many turns, it also bides well to have c/r/fold hands like this in your range for when you flop massive makes it much easier to take 1/2 streets from 1pair/draw hands that would fold ordiarily. But yeah most of the time i either lead/c/fold.
Lots of people who are really good at plo hate this line though so it might be tez still idk!

i don't play much PLO HU but in NLHE HU i would consider 47/43 pretty nitty.

You think somone 3betting 33% of hand over a decent sample is nitty?

Its not massively abnormal, granted i don't play much PLO but playing 47% of hands in HU PLO is still really tight. Id expect good regs to be capable of playing on the high end of 65%. The fact hes 3betting so much is not a problem in PLO because preflop hand equities are alot closer in PLO than NLHE and therefore if your decent should be rubbing your hands together playing all these bloated pots IP.

dave, do you separate your stats into BB and SB numbers? Without that I don't think you can take much from preflop stats

should probs have made it clear these involve a lot of 6max hands aswel - silly to even mention it in the OP in hiensight as they are completly irrelevant
I pay zero attention to these figures myself, I included it in the OP for every elses benefit. to be completely honest I dont really understand how to use this information properly given how HU is so determined so much by gameflow.
I think the only relevant stat is that he is 3bettint 33% which is very high imo.

in HU Dan, what stats (either Pre/Post) would jump out at you as an obv leak?

when you're playing hu do you not have it filtered so you just have hu stats showing?

This is the HUD setup that I use for heads up

I don't play heads up PLO but in holdem the ones that really jump out as obvious leaks are a high BB VPIP and low aggression factor. Low Cbet is usually a leak too and vs me an overly high flop Cbet is gunna be a leak too, but against most its fine. Mine is usually gunna be >85%

The vast majority of my play is heads up and most of the people that I play heads up don't really play many of the 6max SNGs that I used to. If I do notice that I have a lot of hands on someone and I can't remember having played a lot heads up with them I'll just use session stats. If you double click on the HUD for that player in holdem manager it just gives you the stats for the current session.
