Chris North is the CEO and Paul Whiting is Poker Manager. where exactly is it, and when does it open? It is at 93-107 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 5DY. It used to be a nightclub owned by Lee Chapman called Teatro. It is opposite the Fire Station next to China Town and has about 20 tables, bar and full kitchen. It should be open mid September. Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: gatso on August 22, 2010, 10:13:04 AM I initially thought shaftesbury avenue was a terrible location as I can never find anything along there. stumbled upon the place on friday night though and it's in a great spot, dead easy for anyone to find, good choice imo

Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: TightEnd on August 22, 2010, 11:37:27 AM Joe, what was the problem with opening? Licence problems?
Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: JoeBeevers on August 22, 2010, 12:45:50 PM Joe, what was the problem with opening? Licence problems? To be honest I am not sure how much I can say other than that there was a last minute legal issue that was felt better resolved than ignored. It's been a long 5 years of jumping through hoops but club should finally be properly open in September! What about those poor souls that might have turned up for the August tourney schedule that's posted on the site........... :D It does say in various places that the opening has been delayed and it is nice to get an idea of what might be running there when it is properly open but I agree it might have been better to remove 'August' and replace it with 'sample monthly' or similar. At least there is plenty to do around there ;-). Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: titaniumbean on August 22, 2010, 02:42:38 PM Gl gl Joe :)up

Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: Skippy on August 23, 2010, 03:37:37 PM Has this place got a casino license (like DTD), or is it running as a member's club (like The International/Gutshot)?

They have slot machines so I assume full casino licence. Title: Re: Fox Poker Club Post by: tikay on August 24, 2010, 03:27:51 PM I received two notes today, one was canvassing votes for Tony Holden, the other was from Bluff Europe, who are organising the British Poker Awards, which were due to be held at the Fox Club on September 13th, & both mentioned a venue change.
The British Poker Awards will now be re-located to The Kensington Close Hotel. Phil has worked very hard getting the LPC up and running and at a far cost to his hotel company.........and it seems to be running well now. Quote At the Fox Poker Club we have a fairly relaxed view of the dress code. However we don’t accept sports shorts and sleeveless shirts. We also reserve the right not to allow you in if we deem you are inappropriately dressed. The Managements decision is final.
