Title: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Leatherman on August 22, 2010, 12:24:54 PM Worth a visit? Anybody going?
Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: gatso on August 22, 2010, 12:41:24 PM meh, it's fine if you're in the area. if you're going to make a special trip go there then make sure you time it for when someone worth listening to is doing a talk or you'll end up pretty disappointed
Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: DaveShoelace on August 22, 2010, 06:47:38 PM Pretty much what Gatso said, its a lot smaller than you would think but this year they do seem to have made it noticeably bigger.

So is it now about the size that I would expect it to be, or just a bit smaller than that? Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Rotty on August 23, 2010, 12:39:26 AM Worth a visit? So is it now about the size that I would expect it to be, or just a bit smaller than that? I expect it will be slightly larger than the lower-end of your expectation, unless you think it will be larger than it is and in that case it'll be smaller, although not noticeably. You'll get there and say 'this isnt very big' but then you will walk around and see something that makes you go 'ooooh look at that' then you will wander around, get some free stuff and go home. Lol!!!! That was exactly how my trip to poker in the park was last year, brilliant! Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: titaniumbean on August 24, 2010, 05:25:09 PM Tbf i'm probably going to go again, busted out the charity tourny as one of the first runners to go last year but got a consolation watch for 'being bad beat' from Jamie Gold, even though I was like you're all live noobs how is that a 'bad' beat it's poker happens all day, once I saw the watch I shut up and left pretty sharpish rotflmfao :)up

Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Red Hot Poker on August 25, 2010, 03:18:41 PM Worth a visit? Anybody going? We're sponsoring "The Red Hot PokerPLEX" - one of the big marquee's. We'll be running free 40-player Sit & Go's every hour - hosted by "Mad" Marty Wilson, plus there will be a driving simulator (set the fastest lap to win a real supercar for the day), a dj and massage girls. A "Red Hot" Ferrari will also be on show - one of the cars to be won for a day. Hopefully it won't be raining next Thursday/Friday. Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: celtic on August 25, 2010, 03:33:29 PM I'm fairly sure if the prize for setting the fastest lap was a massage girl for the day then that would be better. See what you can do please.

London in general can be fruitful but inside PITP wasn't any good for that imo. The free massages in the centre of Leicester Square went down well though! Hmmm tempting, but then we'd be "Red Hot" Poker for all the wrong reasons ;) Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Leatherman on August 28, 2010, 10:56:04 PM Looks like i'm deffo going to this..(with the Mrs)..sigh!!!

Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Bad Beat on September 01, 2010, 06:11:12 PM What shall I talk about? Am desperately trying to think of a topic.
I'm hoping the TBC will be Black Belt Pro Kevin Williams who is going to explain G-Bucks to some confused-looking random starngers who happen to be in Leicester Square. I hope they let him have a spot, I guess not many people will know who he is, but he puts accross his points well and is an excellent lecturer. Title: Re: Poker In The Park 2010 Post by: Leatherman on September 04, 2010, 09:33:02 AM Enjoyed Poker in Park was glad i made the effort to go down, although i am easly pleased.. The start of the journey didn't go to plan though as we missed our train. (i obv blamed the Mrs) And then was told something like "Oh yeh these are advanced tickets non transferable" so two more tickets cost me £100.. Sigh!! Not a great start as i was already out of pocket for 150 return tickets and 170 for Hotel, which i was lead to belive would have a massive bath and Mini Barrr and it had none.. Great!!! Managed to play two 90 man sng which i final tabled both and won fack all. Standard.. Alot of other stuff going off and was nice to walk round and must say it was Very Fruitful. Mmm!!! Got a signed book off Devil fIsh, had me photo took with Evander Holyfield and poker lesson off Channing, which i only took part in really because he was giving away a Black Belt t-shirt to best pupil.. He gave it too the person next to me obv. :-).. Also met up with Jake Cody which i was pleased about as i've got a small % in WPT.(brag) Must admit when i saw him in the square i did think, oh shit he's not out is he... Only then for him to say i'm on Final Table..Gettt Innnn!!! Which is awesome for him and hopefully he'll take it down and i can make my bank balance a little better after this weekend. Really want to go and rail him today at 3 o'clock but our train departs at half 3 and the mrs is not keen on the idea of paying for new tickets.. Also got to get back for young un... Cash in Empire was a bit crazy i was up and down like a yoyo only to walk off even but obv the mrs doubled her cash again.. For anyone who fancies goin i'd say its worth a visit..
