Title: Cole V Nani
Post by: TheChipPrince on August 23, 2010, 01:36:04 PM
Friend wants a season long bet on Joe Cole's goals v Nani's goals, ALL competitions.  All factors considered, including Cole missing the next 3 league games, what prices would you make this for a fun bet, not bookies prices like 5/6 each.

All opinions welcome.  :)

I like the Cole side. Likely to play more games, slightly better goalscoring record, there is deffo a possibility that Nani might be shipped out by the end of the season more than cole anyway.

Having said that neither are profilic as such, so there is deffo a lot of varience in the bet.

What about Cole 4/5 Nani 5/4, given a 100% book.

If it was on penalties, I'd go for a draw.  0-0.

would've liked the cole side before the penalty miss. tricky one now as you don't know if he'll keep the job

I'm sure Gerrard will be 1st in line and Torres 2nd to take penalties. And i'm not sure Nani will be taking them again for Scum.

Think Cole should be small favourite, Longys prices look about right.

Not sure why Woy gave Cole the penalty-taking job for that game.  Torres was always a penalty taker at Athletico, and without Gerrard on the pitch, I'd have expected him to be the nominated taker.  Maybe it was a similar situation to when Crouch first signed for Liverpool and was in that goal-drought run and was given a penalty to take (and miss).  Maybe Woy was being sentimental?

Like the Cole side, he is going to play so many more games than Nani and a lot of the time the team will be built around him, especially if Torres/Gerrard are injured at any point. Longy probably has the odds spot on.

I quite like the Nani side. He's got so much mroe improvement in him than Cole (28) and I'd expect him to kick on again this season. Plus you are going to see more 3-4 nil hammerings from Utd than any Roy Hodgson side.

I like the Nani side purely because Cole is favourite go down with a season ending injury in the next few weeks.

The injury would have to be in training or a European match.
