Title: Trott and Broad Post by: Josedinho on August 28, 2010, 12:45:24 PM Probably an instant bok but they have been class. I hope we see both make 200.
Highest ever 8th wicket partnership. Broad isn't far from highest ever score for a number 9. Broad has beaten his Dad's highest test score. Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: sweet potata! on August 28, 2010, 12:46:46 PM Irt must feel real good to bang in a ton being a no.9. Fair play to both.

Looks a good bowler but at a young age has already had his head turned if the allegations turn out to be true and the evidence looks pretty damming.
Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: TightEnd on August 29, 2010, 11:39:54 AM Appalling really, the evidence does look grim
Cricket is said to be the easiest sport to fix, and the Pakistani cricket culture remains hopelessly corrupt...but at £50,000 a no ball then a lot of heads will be turned... Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: Chompy on August 29, 2010, 12:52:30 PM Beats me how a no-ball can be worth £50k to anyone but not read the story as yet.
Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: mondatoo on August 29, 2010, 12:58:17 PM Sigh that this happens after Trott and Broad's achievements which will now not even get a mention, life ban is a must.
Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: Simon Galloway on August 29, 2010, 01:02:06 PM Beats me how a no-ball can be worth £50k to anyone but not read the story as yet. Around the same time the spread firms made 'first throw in' markets, they also made 'number of balls until a no-ball' markets. I thought at the time what an easy market to rig. when someone hoofs a football out in 2 seconds, it looks pretty iffy. when the opening bowler oversteps first delivery, no-one blinks. If you could short the spread, I could see it being worth 50k. Or even a random prop bet, odds on there being a no-ball this over? Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: Longy on August 29, 2010, 01:14:35 PM I have skimmed read stuff on cricinfo/bbc and it looks pretty bad.
The fact they are having the presentation out of the public eye, is a strange step and almost an admission that what is going on has some substance. Feel a bit sorry for the England team that they are getting their awards for the series in very strange circumstances, as they have done nothing wrong. Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: mondatoo on August 29, 2010, 01:22:00 PM Cos blatantly rigged it when Cook got a 4 first ball,so sick
Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: GreekStein on August 29, 2010, 03:41:06 PM Cos blatantly rigged it when Cook got a 4 first ball,so sick lol. The Pakistanis always have been the most bent team ever Title: Re: Trott and Broad Post by: henrik777 on August 29, 2010, 03:57:48 PM Hansie Cronje and that scandal was mostly in India iirc.
Shane Warne etc was with Indian bookies. Sandy |
