Title: River value bet?
Post by: cambridgealex on August 31, 2010, 03:08:53 PM
Vs. Unknown. What does his turn lead here mean? Should we check behind this river? Or Bet/fold? 350ish?

Yeah bet 350 sounds good. Can't see you getting jammed on here very often though. Pretty gross spot if he does jam.

Yeah I think so. He can be donking any 6 and 8 on the turn, any flop float that missed and is just trying to win it on the turn. Way too much stuff for you to be able to fold. I might even raise the turn.

I check behind here. He could have an 8 that he'll call you with but I doubt it. Nitty approach for me here.

i cnt really think of a hand tht is beating you that would check raise the turn then just check call the river.

so it looks like hes either bluffing or has a 1 pair hand that we would try and get value from.

think id probably call if he check jammed 2bh,

i think he'd find it pretty hard to check a set or a two pair hand and give us the chance to check back some of our hands.

Yea pretty sure you gotta raise turn to 420 or 440. This will bring pot size to like 1120-1160 leaving like 950 to 930 in your stack and 930 to 910 in their stack, essentially setting up a perfect size for a river shove.

As played, betting 350 seems fine and if they shove Id prolly call if off.

+1 once he has taken the intiative in the hand on the turn, I doubt he chks the river often to c/r for value because you will chk back so often, spesh as a flush gets in.
in my experience though people show up with a 2 here tiltingly more than they should lol
