Title: Re: let the festivities begin!!!! Post by: RED-DOG on December 26, 2005, 01:20:17 AM You guys say you hate Christmas when what you really hate is all the hype that surrounds it
The expense, The trailing around the shops,, the obligations, the TV and radio ramming it down your throats since October... I hate that stuff too But peoples attitudes change at Christmas. They open up a bit, they smile at each other, offer a friendly greeting to strangers, show a little more affection for their loved ones, and maybe do something to help those not quite as fortunate as themselves Thats the part of Christmas I love, and with a little effort, we could have that all year round The coming year is brand new, untouched and unspoiled, we all get another chance. Be nice to someone, make the world a better place MERRY CHRISTMAS Title: Re: let the festivities begin!!!! Post by: tikay on December 26, 2005, 01:23:10 AM :goodpost:
Title: Re: let the festivities begin!!!! Post by: Robert HM on December 26, 2005, 01:40:08 AM OK I admit my post was a little tongue in cheek, I spent Christmas Eve with some close friends and did the pressie opening thing, that's when they do theirs. We sang a few carols, played a bit of poker and had a good time. They only live a couple of miles away so I came back home that night and returned to help cook dinner. The company was terrific and I felt at peace with the world.
Tom I agree with you Title: Re: let the festivities begin!!!! Post by: Heid on December 26, 2005, 01:42:52 AM We have never doneanythignfor xmas, soit's just a nice day with family for me.
New Year is my trouble spot, dreading New Year's Eve. It's a shame that people can change their behaviour because they think they have to and not because they want to though, don't you think? New Year new start...I agree. |
