Which happens the least often

i rarely go to the pub
i seldom go to the pub


which is greater in size

gigantic is bigger. enormous means very big whereas gigantic is right at the top of the range. e.g. a normal sized great dane is an enormous dog but not gigantic. an enormous great dane is a gigantic dog (or substitute whatever the biggest breed of dog is if it's not a GD)

not sure on rarely and seldom, I'm gonna call it a dead heat

I think seldom is just a posh rarely, but would agree that gigantic has an element of superlative that enormous just doesn't have.

You hear some Ginormous but you don't get any engantic.

Why bring the Gi to the normous unless to add something to the normous that En just can't do.

At the risk of posting without googling, I think Ginormous was a word invented by Terry Wogan.

And 9 times out of 10 you'd hear me say ginormous over gigantic.  In fact, make it 100% of the time.  Hence the delay in replying.  Just couldn't get me head round a word I never use.
