Title: Shameless Brag and Advice Required
Post by: AlrightJack on September 27, 2010, 02:25:37 PM
Shameless Brag: I just received the following email from Sporting Index, having entered their 'guess how many yellow cards will be shown in the Premiership this weekend' competition.

Afternoon Jonathan,

You’ve just been pulled out of the hat as the winner of this week’s competition! Your guess of 36 Yellow Cards was spot on.

That means you have a £200 Total Goals bet to take on any match that we're quoting between now and Sunday night. Simply email me with your selection and direction before your chosen game kicks off and you can consider your bet on. The only t&c is that the max win from this free bet is £400.

Congratulations!

The Mole

Advice Required: I'm no stranger to spread betting, but don't bet much these days. I'm also no expert on football betting (I'm 1 correct bet from 7 in a football tipping competition that I'm currently taking part in). So, advice please on the best opportunity this week to use my free bet on.

I expect the quote for Pompey/Bristol City will be 2.4-2.6.

I would buy this.

Portsmouth have some great weapons at this level Nugent, Kitson, Lawrence and Utaka and they certainly seemed to find confidence and form against Leceister last time out. Their defence is shocking however and they are always likely to concede a goal or two.

City aren't prolific scorers but Haynes is a great player and Stead is a threat at Championship level.

I think overs is value.

Thanks... You know all! Luckily I don't price much(Niche sports specialist), so we shouldn't be in trouble.

Jon -  Look for the 0-0, I'm a seller!

Pompey/Brizzie is actually quoted at 2.225-2.45.

I would definitely go for this.

Thanks for the advice Keith. I'm on!

Over 2.5 has been backed from 2.2 to 1.89 on betfair.

Either 1.89 is way wrong or 2.45 is a great buy.

I'm involved now :/

Just thought it was amusing that the one guy you singled out scored.

Stead is a terrific striker at championship level, very clever and cool in front of front of goal.

Good tip.

Shame it wasnt at Elland Road but can't argue with a £310? profit.

When I suggested to Katharine I might pop down to the EPT se almost had a fit.

Jake is having his fifth birthday party on Saturday and 22 4,5 and 6 year olds are coming, it wouldn't be fair to subnject her to that alone!

I might sneak down on Sunday.

I had the princely of £50 sitting there since sunday @ 2.2 bordering on being matched the whole time but never quite getting there, then, wait for it, I check again, £6 matched (oi oi) and the price had gone down to 2.04, a real wtf one.
