Title: Small brag - Travel advice required! Post by: Boba Fett on September 28, 2010, 02:42:05 PM Got a phonecall today from sky, I won 2 tickets for NBA Europe on Monday 4th October at O2 Arena in London! Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
So my 1 problem is, I have flights booked to go to Riga for the Grand Series of Poker Live event. My flight takes off at 10.05am from Glasgow prestwick airport and cannot be changed or refunded. So far Im looking at, getting the earliest possible flight from London - Glasgow (preferably Prestwick) so that I dont miss the flight, skipping the Prestwick-Riga flight and flying from London-Riga instead, getting the train back from London, driving down, driving straight back. Gonna be spending all day working out cost/hassle/details but if anyone has any good ideas please post them here. Thanks Title: Re: Small brag - Travel advice required! You're flying from London to Glasgow so you don't miss your flight to Riga, but then actually skipping that flight and flying to Riga from London? Title: Re: Small brag - Travel advice required! Post by: The Camel on September 28, 2010, 02:51:14 PM I'm assuming your flight to Riga is on the Tuesday?
I would have thought getting a flight from London to Riga and then getting your original flight home would be the best plan. May not be the cheapest but definitely the least hassle. No, either getting earliest flight back to Glasgow and then flying Glasgow-Riga or just flying London - Riga and skipping the Glasgow-Riga flight out. Only issue is losing your money from 1 flight. Getting there is no issue at all. Just need 15 minutes on t'internet. There's loads of airports you can fly to Riga from around London. Easiest way to sort it is to go to the budget airlines and try to book a return flight from Riga returning to Riga on Tuesday morning. This will show you your airport options more clearly for a one way flight out there and is just a little bit quicker. Actually I've just had a quick look. Ryanair, Stanstead to Riga departs 6.05am for £45 + whatever silly charges they add which shouldn't be too much. Title: Re: Small brag - Travel advice required! prestwick-london, london-riga, book 1st flight leaving riga(as ul not be there long)probaly 2nd level... riga-prestwick, drive prestwick-glasgow, get home put on lottery ticket, cross fingers, say a prayer,......more chance of a payout than playing in riga thk me goodnight.
