PokerStars has announced the schedule for the second season of the UKIPT, which will kick off in Galway on December 2, 2010.

The tour's inaugural season, which comes to a close this week at the Grand Final/EPT London, has so far paid out more than £2million in prize money, which is certain to increase in Season 2 with higher guarantees for a number of the stops.

Season 2 takes in eight destinations before the Grand Final at EPT London next September, with two new host venues to look forward to. The fourth stop will put Cork on the map with a €100,000 guaranteed tournament with a €500 + 60 buy-in, while the Aspers Casino, Newcastle, is the location for the fifth stop, with a £500 + £50 Main Event featuring a £100,000 guarantee.

UKIPT Host Nick Wealthall said: "The response from players to season 1 was overwhelming and really exciting to be a part of. Season 2 promises to be even bigger, but we won't lose what makes the tour special: great value, local character and the most fun you can have at a poker tournament."

New Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree will also be a major presence on the tour, and will be hoping to add a UKIPT title to her EPT San Remo win. Boeree said: "I can't wait to play the UKIPT this year as a Team PokerStars Pro. The first stop in Galway is sure to have a stellar field and a huge prize pool, so it would be great to kick off the season with a win there!"

The first stop of Season 2 in Galway takes place on December 2 -5, with the €1,000 + 100 Main Event guaranteeing a €250,000 prize pool. This is followed in February by a return to the Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham, where £200,000 will be guaranteed for the £500 + 60 Main Event.

Hi All,

We are looking for feedback on the tourney schedules for UKIPT.  There is some interesting discussion happening about what we should be offering, for how much, etc...  I've already been asked about High Rollers, Heads Up, HORSE, 8 Game, PLO, etc...

What are your thoughts?  If a High Roller, what buy in?  1K? 1.5K? 2K? 3K? 5K?  HORSE or 8 Game?  PLO or NLH/PLO?  PLO8?

Also, since I haven't seen an official Galway Thread, here is the schedule...sats started today at Pokerstars...

All main events min 1k, high rollers min 5k. 8game or horse will get no runners so pointless. Plo comp at every festival where winner gets seat into "PLO championships" which is during last festival and is min 2.5k

Had a great time after getting knocked out.

Was pretty pissed off when I found out the price of the hotel, but really enjoyed the festival.

Disagree Dubai, get so many more qualifiers online with it being £500 bi. Also not too much for all the busto regs/ gives some of us a chance to play a good structured tournament.

think the main events should of been made £1k (run enough sats for them and they would easily fill) but since they have all been set at £500/€500 i think you def should have a £2k-£3k high roller event at the bigger stops on the tour (manchester, nottingham and dublin).

a €5k high roller at galway too but it might be too late to add that.

the winner of each high roller event should be given a seat into ept london 2011 as an added bonus too. (this will act as a decent incentive to increase field sizes too)

horse, 8 game, plo8 and heads up are too specialist to ever really work beyond ept london imo. maybe you could run one "mixed game event" per stop, rotating it each time. but there should be probably be plo, 6 max and turbo events at every stop tho.

what would be really cool is if the side events had extra value like the winner of each side event win a seat into the corresponding side event at ept london 2011. for example, say manchester has a £300 6 max side event, the winner also wins a seat into the ept london 2011 £1k 6 max side event.

Would love to see a PLO8 or 8game tournament somewhere on the tour.  Online satellites to side events would be really cool too.

I'd love to see an 8 game, but as everyone says they wont get many. If anything, have one 8 game once, maybe at DTD where there will be the biggest number of punters.

Very much like what people are saying about side event winners also get the corresponding side event seat at the EPT, that will get them plenty of runners as well providing some direct competition to the champion of champions at the GUKPT.

Also, maybe if the plan is to make the side events more of a big deal, perhaps they should contribute to the UKIPT rankings. It will certainly get more people playing them, particularly if the top 5-10 all get something.

Just realised I am essentially asking you to copy the GUKPT

I think this tour is great, although why are all the events now £500, and the Galway leg reduced to £1000, surely there is room for some bigger buy in events apart from the Grand final, which is the EPT anyway so can't really count as a true final.

Last years winners did do well though with at least 3 cashing in the EPT, so maybe they've got it right there. I would like to see a separate grand final though, with a bigger buy in, and would have though DTDor maybe Fox in London would be ideal for this. Do the other smaller poker stars tours around Europe and the world all link in to the EPT in London, or equivalent?

Also why are the side events all NLH, surely with the growth of people playing PLO and Mixed games there is a place in the scheduling for these?
