Title: Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time Volume I and II
Post by: kinboshi on October 04, 2010, 10:46:52 AM
Volume I (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Winning-Poker-Tournaments-Hand-Time/dp/0974150274?&camp=2486&linkCode=wsw&tag=blondepoker-21&creative=8918) and Volume II (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Winning-Poker-Tournaments-Hand-Time/dp/0984143440?&camp=2486&linkCode=wsw&tag=blondepoker-21&creative=8918)

Don't know if these books have been discussed on here before (probably have), but just thought I'd ask to see if they're a worthwhile purchase from those who've read them.  I know some don't like poker books, but I find them ideal for train journeys and was looking for some good ones to get.

Other than these two, are there any good books people would recommend (for cash or tournament poker).  I know there was an ebook that Alex recommended, but that was slightly outside my price range.  Any others?

It'd have to be called "How to bink a tournament every four years."

I believe he's looking for a publisher for his book on speed cameras first and then will work on the poker book.

I'm looking forward to the chapter on utilising the power of prayer to increase roi

Join a training site and download a bunch of ipod compatible/MP4 videos to stick on whatever phone you have and watch em on the train instead.

Or better yet, download Alan Partridge instead and wet yourself all the way up and down the country not caring what people think of you, as I tend to do on train journeys.

Think I will.  Looks like no one else reads books any more, especially poker ones.

I've read volume one and found it excellent. 3 different pros take you through a hand by hand analysis of what they did in certain spots and why. Insightful and an easy read too. So easy in fact, I've read it 3 times.

I was tempted to buy volume two as well, but was put off by some poor reviews.

I'd definitely recommend volume one though - go for it!

Volume 1 was good didn't realise volume 2 was out!

I bought both in the summer but am only part way through Vol 1.

They're very easy to dip in and out of, as they're all individual hand scenarios being discussed.  It's good to have a contrast from different styles of players too.

Definitely worth a read if you like poker books though.  Similar in style to Gus Hansen's book, although that covers one specific tournament.

vol 2 is just like vol 1 with people discussing hands except towards the end you and mantis start having digs at each other until cos shows up in his internet suit and sorts it all out

I think it's about time APAT had a serious look at there payout structures as well.
