Title: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: The-Crow on October 06, 2010, 10:06:36 PM Episode One The Great Sausage Challenge
As all good businessmen know , It takes a good man to sell a sausage, and so Lord Sugars first task was to get the 2 teams to buy meat and make sausages. The Girls decided to make quality sausages with 70% meat, the boys made cheap minimum meat content rusky sausages They both sold from market stalls , one in the East End , one in the West End No Spoilers here, but the winners were treated to a slap up meal of Champagne and yes..... more sausages. They knew the best way to start the new series was to appeal to the sausage hungry nation Sausage week is from 1st to 7th November Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: kinboshi on October 06, 2010, 10:10:42 PM I've just decided that following twitter updates during 'The Apprentice' is the best thing in the world.

Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: The-Crow on October 13, 2010, 08:33:42 PM Episode Two The Great Beach Accessory Sale
Watch tonight at 9pm ; Following an early morning call summoning the candidates to Heathrow airport, hopes are high for a sunshine getaway. No such luck for the candidates, though, as Lord Sugar sets the task of designing and creating a brand new beach accessory. The task is centred on creating something completely original for the nation's sun worshipers, along with an eye-catching poster to promote their product. Candidates must then pitch their product to three big retailers in the hopes of securing orders and avoiding a place in the boardroom. A surprise result leads to a fierce boardroom battle, where one more candidate is faced with hearing Lord Sugar's immortal words "You're fired". Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: The-Crow on October 30, 2010, 12:05:11 PM I have started watching the new apprentice in USA.
Donald Trump runs the show with two aids to watch the teams. His daughter Ivanka ( Is that a real name, or rhyming slang ) is watching the men. The first show of this new season has much better tasks than our Lord Sugars show. The 8 men and 8 women have all been unemployed for over a year, and were successful business people untill 2008, when USA went bust. Ranging from an assistant District Attourneys's in New York and construction company owners,to commercial bankers the age range is from 22 to 42. The first task was to equip an office space about 100m by 20m. The had to design partitions and paint the walls themselves. Then go and buy furniture, chairs, decorations and a boardroom table as well as all the High tech Internet and plasma screens they may need. They did not seem to have a budget to work to, so they could buy any artwork or designer furniture to make the new office stand out. Both Offices were on the ground floor with long windows on the road side. This area of New York was Soho and was an upmarket business area. There were no sales required in this first task , they just had to build an office Mr.Trump judged to be outstanding. May watch a few more of these Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: mondatoo on October 30, 2010, 12:15:03 PM Just started watching the first season of the US one,it's pretty good.

Loved Stella in the window like a hooker, Stuart's opinion of the recycled suit jackets with hoods and reaction when he saw the price tag, loved Nicks facial expressions regarding pretty much everything. I'm glad Alex didn't go, he deserves another chance. Suprised he didn't fire Sandeesh though, he usually gets rid of the ones who do nothing and contribute nothing before he gets rid of the personalities. I guess Paloma talked herself out of it. Taken one bet so far, £20 on Jamie @ 5/1, which was requested this morning on msn. Hes come in a little bit as a result. Liz has drifted a fair bit since last week, feel she made some questionable decisions as team leader last night despite showing enthusiasm over the product. Laura and Joanna have as a result come in a bit, think they both showed some business acumen last night. 4/1 Stella 9/2 Jamie 9/2 Liz 15/2 Chris Bates 8/1 Chris F 8/1 Joanna 12/1 Laura 12/1 Alex 14/1 Stuart 50/1 Sandeesh Max Liability £200 (negotiable) *Prices subject to change when bets taken, will be updated further on. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: The-Crow on November 17, 2010, 10:58:39 PM Great episode
But if you can only make 3 DVDs an hour why buy 100 blank discs, bad costing imo Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: SuuPRlim on November 17, 2010, 11:26:13 PM my £10 on stuart was a gd punt at 14s but that money is in the bin now imo
I felt sorry for sandesh today, her ONLY chance to be saved was taking jamie with her but it was pretty obvious by who was on her team that if she lost the challenge she'd prolly get chopped. Stuart demonstrated he has no idea wat so ever and if Sir Lord Alan hires I'll jump head first off my balcony. I think Jo really came into her own this week and fancy her to do well, and the only guy with a chance of winning it imo is Chris blonde Chris. Again what a bunch of total fucking clowns. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Acidmouse on November 18, 2010, 12:31:31 AM Stuart "Leeds Poly lol" Baggs just has no substance to him. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Bongo on November 18, 2010, 02:19:33 PM Am I the only one to think Stella is lacking? I think Liz could be caught out too. Mind you I don't think any of the others are any better...
One thing that tilts me is when a PM decides to drive the car (OK, I can understand that would be fun) or be the star of their TV ad - why expose yourself for 0 gain? Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: pleno1 on November 18, 2010, 02:35:26 PM Yeah think Stella and Liz aren't the best.
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: DMorgan on November 18, 2010, 05:15:09 PM Barring any major fuck ups I reckon its between Chris and Jamie. Liz and stella have both been way more quiet and it tends not to be the quiet ones that win it from the series' that I've seen
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: cambridgealex on November 18, 2010, 07:53:14 PM Barring any major fuck ups I reckon its between Chris and Jamie. Liz and stella have both been way more quiet and it tends not to be the quiet ones that win it from the series' that I've seen I dunno, last year Yasmina was pretty quiet until the final. Although most people thought Kate would win and she came 2nd. I think Stella is out of the running and that it is between Chris, Jamie and Liz. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: George2Loose on November 18, 2010, 07:55:59 PM no WAY will Jamie win
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Drain Alien on November 18, 2010, 09:04:09 PM no WAY will Jamie win I think that Also agree with some of the posters above that Stella is a brilliant.............................lager. Oh, and.........[ ] I like Stuart. Alot. Liz FTW imo. All round good entertainment tho, whoever wins (As long as it wasn't Alex my life is complete) Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: SuuPRlim on November 18, 2010, 09:31:32 PM I think Jamie is a no-hoper, I really dont think Sir Lord Alan likes him all that much
Next time stuart's team looses he's out unless he pulls something out his arse imo Stella does seem to be lacking something i think, Liz would win over Stella Id imagine - I think Jo has given herself a great chance, if she binks whilst she's PM I think she'll give herself a real chance, she just never seems to make mistakes and is pretty solid. I really like Chris (young chris) and I get the impression his highness likes him. Chris (ex military) is clearly good but not good enough vs Liz/Chris/Stella/Jo My prediction is 1. Liz 2. Chris 3. Jo Anyone wat to ofer a different top3 (can be same peoples but in diff order) and can do a lil bit of gambling?? Laura was whiney, obnoxious, irratating - not to mention absolutly fkin SHIT at the job, Stuart handled her pretty well to his credit but and her imcoptetance will get him an extra week than he deserves. Can feel the cracks forming for chris a bit and i really think Lord Sir Alan dislikes Jamie. Jo showed today she doesnt have what it takes, so by process of elimination its between liz and stella and Liz is better, my predoctions for next few weeks are Laura Jo Stuart Jamie Chris Stella Liz sick episode, again prett baffled by the stupidity of them all Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: The-Crow on November 25, 2010, 02:46:30 AM A second sausage tasting competition
Lucky Stuart Baggins ( Bilbo ) went to a sausage factory that had 1200 different types of sausage They even had the fabled White Sausage, lol Curry flavoured sausage seems to be the favorite delicacy in Hamburg, I knew it was famous for something saucy. They both chose a sausage flavoured crisp. But the first team were beaten by not taking the 9am sales pitch. The early bird catches the sausage obviously. Strange not a hamburger shop in sight in Hamburg Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: pleno1 on November 25, 2010, 11:43:20 AM Go on the bagsssssssssssss

He hasn't got a chance of winning but glad he is hanging in for more comedy. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Horneris on December 02, 2010, 01:59:12 AM Laura looked hot on You're fired.
Stuart is incred obv, will be interesting to see what happens next week as we heard Chris Bates square upto him and call him a "fat twat" in the preview. Chris Bates coming across really well now, worried about the £150 i stand to lose to Lil Dave. At least i have Stella and Jo on my side, need them to shine again. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: sledge13 on December 02, 2010, 07:38:26 PM Liz is stunning, gtfo rat face...
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: cambridgealex on December 03, 2010, 06:24:41 AM top 3 predictions are 1) Liz 2) Jo 3)Chris
Stella will be gone soon enough as will Stuart, his run has lasted long enough but has been terrific value. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: sledge13 on December 03, 2010, 06:15:52 PM Liz is stunning, gtfo rat face... Bit harsh m8, she was really nice on the "You're Fired" show... Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Horneris on December 03, 2010, 08:02:20 PM Stuart will come 4th like James did last year. Hes funny and Lord Sugar will know hes good for the show so will keep him in until the semi finals then will come last of the final 4.
Jamie is good but 2/5 items purchased is disgusting and Lord Sugar seems to dislike him for some reason. I see him going in the next 2 weeks. I also see one of Jo or Stella going depending on performances in the next 2 weeks. My idea of the final 2 is Liz and Chris. Not ideal for my bets. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: TightEnd on December 03, 2010, 10:17:45 PM I am told each exiting candidate gets 48 hours solid media training before they appear on Youre fired/BBC Breakfast/5 live in the 24 hours after eviction is shown
this explains why they come across as relaxed and self deprecating, often at odds with the character they have displayed on the show Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: TightEnd on December 08, 2010, 10:07:16 PM Wonderful episode tonight
Almost unbelievable boardroom self sell from Baggs, and Lord S bought it I am told next week is TV gold New prices please! Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: kinboshi on December 08, 2010, 10:09:25 PM Next week is when all their bullshit on the CVs comes out. We'll see how much Baggs the Brand has actually made. Bets Taken £20 Jamie @ 5/1 (Rooks) £10 Stuart @ 14/1 (LilDave) £20 on Chris Bates @ 8/1 (LilDave) For what its worth, i got the word from one of my sources a few days ago that Liz would be going tonight as she went for a job interview in his company in London. Because i'm such an honest guy and respected member of the forum i decided against coming on and offering a big price on her to win it. I'm worried about LilDave's bet at 8/1, i think Chris Bates is just about going win it from here. Need some dramatically improved performances from Stella and Jo, the 2 on my side. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: George2Loose on December 09, 2010, 01:36:04 AM hmmm toughest year to call it this time. Was convinced Stella was going to beat Chris heads up but it's wide open
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: cambridgealex on December 09, 2010, 06:46:16 AM sick episode. liz did just fizzle out after impressive start. A bit like Kate last year, good early on but not enough spark. Stuart did really well in the boardroom obv, but may be undone in the interviews. Really looking forward to them getting ripped apart by those guys next week, should be great TV.
Thought Stella made a good attempt in trying not to be wooden and corporate, but she was clearly well out of her comfort zone and that came across to the ppl on the bus. Jamie did come out with some cracking lines (both mentioned above) which lead me to believe that he is actually not that smart at all. Honestly think its between Chris and Stuart ftw. I'm missing the hard as nails stuff though and would probs just cry in the boardroom if someone was mean to me. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: bhoywonder on December 15, 2010, 10:03:09 PM I enjoyed that..
I was taking notes I'm in for a promotion interview in the new year...Stella wins it for me Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: bhoywonder on December 15, 2010, 10:06:54 PM I haven't been for an interview for 15 years...I haven't a clue...lol
Any tips or sage advice Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: TightEnd on December 15, 2010, 10:08:42 PM I haven't been for an interview for 15 years...I haven't a clue...lol Any tips or sage advice Do your research on the company Don't tell a lie on your CV that can catch you out. Little embellishments are fine, expected. Or claim you have invented microchips to find lost cats in Bermuda Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Bongo on December 15, 2010, 10:11:05 PM Seems odd to me that Stuart ran a telecoms company and it had a license and said that on his CV and they said he was lying.
Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Claw75 on December 15, 2010, 10:21:13 PM Seems odd to me that Stuart ran a telecoms company and it had a license and said that on his CV and they said he was lying. yeah I thought that seemed a bit harsh too Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: henrik777 on December 15, 2010, 10:40:36 PM Stella is as hard as nails. She'll walk all over Chris in the final, I think Better candidate but she has ended up with Melissa and Joanna who previously found it very difficult to work together. Chris has Liz and they worked very well together previously. They should make it a 2 parter or a 2 hour episode imo. We have learnt so much about the characters of the likes of Stuart and Jamie over the last 10 weeks that i thought they deserved more than "your full of shit, you're fired" or "you blame everything on someone else, you're fired". To sack 3 in 10 minutes when usually it takes 30 minutes to sack 1 is unbalanced and disappointing. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Horneris on December 15, 2010, 10:45:43 PM UPDATE
Bets Taken £20 on Chris Bates @ 8/1 (LilDave) So i am either going to be +£90 or -£90. I like Evens on Stella. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Chompy on December 15, 2010, 10:50:00 PM "You're Fired" deserved an hour tonight. I remeber watching it for the first time a few years ago and had some interviews to do myself the day after. Was well excited, thought I was going to nail somebody to the wall and make them squirm with my cutting questions.
The candidate was some 16 year old girl, on her application under the section that said something like 'what personal qualities do you think you could bring to the role' there was a big blank box. When questioned about it she shrugged her shoulders and chewed her gum. She got the job. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: thetank on December 16, 2010, 12:22:56 AM Not that I remember. It wasn't that interesting, she just didn't turn up. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: George2Loose on December 16, 2010, 12:25:37 AM Just think Lord Sugar has a soft spot for Chris like he did with Simon in series 3.
Stella was a pick from the start So I cant lose. Even if I miss I cant miss Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Bongo on December 16, 2010, 01:21:18 AM Seems odd to me that Stuart ran a telecoms company and it had a license and said that on his CV and they said he was lying. yeah I thought that seemed a bit harsh too He didn't stretch the truth though, he runs a telecoms company and it's licensed. The fact it's internet based and doesn't need any other license seemed to be lost on Alan's tech guy. He was probably busy working on the follow up to the em@iler though so I suppose we can forgive him. Also agree with Horneris that it needed to be longer - less clips of them lying to each other saying the interviews went well and more reasoning for the sackings. Probably more Margret too. She was brilliant. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Bongo on December 16, 2010, 11:58:59 AM But if he runs a telecoms company (and there didn't seem to be any disagreement there) and he has the licenses he needs how is he not a fully licensed telecoms company?
Loved Margaret saying "I suppose you will give 110% too?" Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: trafficjam on December 16, 2010, 12:15:06 PM Stella is as hard as nails. She'll walk all over Chris in the final, I think I reckon so too. She reminds me a lot of myself in many ways (in terms of background - dropping out of school, falling into a profession by joining as a PA, seeking out oportunities, creating new roles and working up). considered for a minute whether I might apply next year. I'm missing the hard as nails stuff though and would probs just cry in the boardroom if someone was mean to me. That is so strange you said that Claire, as I thought of you, you are very astute and you would be a good candidate. Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: trafficjam on December 16, 2010, 12:16:21 PM I loved the bit when Margaret said that Chris most probably has all his certificates framed and he sits and looks at them!

cant argue with the result best candidate overall on reflection, however I will argue because i backed chris. die in a grease-fire lord sugar (or send my £30 back on full tilt, either is fine) Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: GrindMachine on December 23, 2010, 12:41:41 AM Am I the only one who sits and watches the apprentice and thinks, about 20 times an episode, I'm better than him/her!?
Although saying that I don't think I'd match Stella or Chris, I thought both of them had some great attributes that I honestly don't think I could compete with. Does anyone else share my view?...Or perhaps I really AM business savvy enough to go on the next apprentice ;) Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Claw75 on December 23, 2010, 09:50:36 AM Am I the only one who sits and watches the apprentice and thinks, about 20 times an episode, I'm better than him/her!? It's very easy to be an armchair critic though :) Title: Re: The Apprentice BBC 1 Post by: Bongo on December 23, 2010, 11:43:52 AM It's also for entertainment so they likely cut any boring/complicated good decisions they make and show the awful ones.
