                                         Episode One  The Great Sausage Challenge

As all good businessmen know , It takes a good man to sell a sausage,

 and so Lord Sugars first task was to get the 2 teams to buy meat and make sausages.

The Girls decided to make quality sausages with 70% meat, the boys made cheap minimum meat content  rusky sausages

They both sold from market stalls , one in the East End , one in the West End

No Spoilers here, but the winners were treated to a slap up meal of Champagne and yes..... more sausages.


They knew the best way to start the new series was to appeal to the sausage hungry nation

Sausage week is from 1st to 7th November

                      Episode Two  The Great Beach Accessory Sale

Watch tonight at 9pm ; Following an early morning call summoning the candidates to Heathrow airport, hopes are high for a sunshine getaway. No such luck for the candidates, though, as Lord Sugar sets the task of designing and creating a brand new beach accessory.

The task is centred on creating something completely original for the nation's sun worshipers, along with an eye-catching poster to promote their product. Candidates must then pitch their product to three big retailers in the hopes of securing orders and avoiding a place in the boardroom.

A surprise result leads to a fierce boardroom battle, where one more candidate is faced with hearing Lord Sugar's immortal words "You're fired".

Dara O'Briain has said on Twitter "Tonight's You're Fired has a little extra, by the way. All I'm saying, you won't know the full story of this year's Apprentice without it..."

I noticed that - presumably there's some limit on the number of times their name could be mentioned without it becoming an advert on the BBC.

Enjoying this, 1st time i've seen the show as I detest reality shows, esp crud like the "k" factor.

On another note, The Apprentice is great, last season was immense.

Pop Idol/X Factor et all are the anti christ of music...ok for a laugh with ear plugs in though I guess.

The Apprentice seems addictive and at least some of them are good at what they do...though the entertainment comes from the first class tools in it...

                       Episode Three The Great Baking Challenge

Tonight at 9pm                     Are they all  Masterbakers


 The candidates seize the opportunity to impress Lord Sugar as they take over an industrial bakery. The teams are each given a market stall from which they try to tempt hungry customers with their baked goods, and they go head-to-head to pitch for the business of a high-class hotel, a restaurant and a coffee shop. Nick and Karren keep an eye on proceedings as the teams work to keep up with orders, and when the teams face Lord Sugar in the boardroom, one candidate is fired.

I have started watching the new apprentice in USA.

Donald Trump runs the show with two aids to watch the teams.

 His daughter Ivanka ( Is that a real name, or rhyming slang ) is watching the men.

The first show of this new season has much better tasks than our Lord Sugars show.

The 8 men and 8 women have all been unemployed for over a year, and were successful business people untill 2008, when USA went bust.

Ranging from an assistant District Attourneys's in New York  and construction company owners,to commercial bankers  the age range is from 22 to 42.

The first task was to equip an office space about 100m by 20m. The had to design partitions and paint the walls themselves. Then go and buy furniture, chairs, decorations and a  boardroom table as well as  all the High tech Internet and plasma screens they may need.

They did not seem to have a budget to work to, so they could buy any artwork or designer furniture to make the new office stand out.

Both Offices were on the ground floor with long windows on the road side. This area of New York was Soho and was an upmarket business area.

There were no sales required in this first task , they just had to build an office Mr.Trump judged to be outstanding.

Was a fantastic episode last night.

Loved Stella in the window like a hooker, Stuart's opinion of the recycled suit jackets with hoods and reaction when he saw the price tag, loved Nicks facial expressions regarding pretty much everything.

I'm glad Alex didn't go, he deserves another chance. Suprised he didn't fire Sandeesh though, he usually gets rid of the ones who do nothing and contribute nothing before he gets rid of the personalities.

I guess Paloma talked herself out of it.

Jamie is good but 2/5 items purchased is disgusting and Lord Sugar seems to dislike him for some reason. I see him going in the next 2 weeks.

I also see one of Jo or Stella going depending on performances in the next 2 weeks.

My idea of the final 2 is Liz and Chris. Not ideal for my bets.

I am told each exiting candidate gets 48 hours solid media training before they appear on Youre fired/BBC Breakfast/5 live in the 24 hours after eviction is shown

this explains why they come across as relaxed and self deprecating, often at odds with the character they have displayed on the show

For what its worth, i got the word from one of my sources a few days ago that Liz would be going tonight as she went for a job interview in his company in London. Because i'm such an honest guy and respected member of the forum i decided against coming on and offering a big price on her to win it.

hmmm toughest year to call it this time. Was convinced Stella was going to beat Chris heads up but it's wide open

sick episode. liz did just fizzle out after impressive start. A bit like Kate last year, good early on but not enough spark. Stuart did really well in the boardroom obv, but may be undone in the interviews. Really looking forward to them getting ripped apart by those guys next week, should be great TV.

Thought Stella made a good attempt in trying not to be wooden and corporate, but she was clearly well out of her comfort zone and that came across to the ppl on the bus. Jamie did come out with some cracking lines (both mentioned above) which lead me to believe that he is actually not that smart at all. Honestly think its between Chris and Stuart ftw. 

Suge falls for that self made line every series, you could see it coming.

Can't wait to see Baw Baggs interview next week.

the audience is shown the episode as live, then they film the You're fired straight after

Coincidentally, the Apprentice itself was filmed over a year ago. It was delayed by Sugar being elevated to the Lords as a political appointment. Therefore the show couldn't be aired when first intended whichw as during the elction time May-June of this year

The audience for You're Fired get to see the main programme before recording starts, so they see it before it's aired.

Stella is as hard as nails. She'll walk all over Chris in the final, I think

I reckon so too.  She reminds me a lot of myself in many ways (in terms of background - dropping out of school, falling into a profession by joining as a PA, seeking out oportunities, creating new roles and working up).  considered for a minute whether I might apply next year.  I'm missing the hard as nails stuff though and would probs just cry in the boardroom if someone was mean to me.

Might see if Joanna wants to clean my gaff.

Do your research on the company

Don't tell a lie on your CV that can catch you out. Little embellishments are fine, expected.

Or claim you have invented microchips to find lost cats in Bermuda

Seems odd to me that Stuart ran a telecoms company and it had a license and said that on his CV and they said he was lying.

Better candidate but she has ended up with Melissa and Joanna who previously found it very difficult to work together.

Chris has Liz and they worked very well together previously.

Really looked like they decided he mjust be a bullshitter and that was the best evidence they could muster - overall, he speaks and represents himself well - reckon he'll do fine

I was disappointed with this episode.

They should make it a 2 parter or a 2 hour episode imo.

We have learnt so much about the characters of the likes of Stuart and Jamie over the last 10 weeks that i thought they deserved more than "your full of shit, you're fired" or "you blame everything on someone else, you're fired".

To sack 3 in 10 minutes when usually it takes 30 minutes to sack 1 is unbalanced and disappointing.

Yeh thought he did well to be honest. He stretched the truth but pretty sure to everyone but the tech bloke it wouldn't have mattered. If the company is doing well then the license he holds is pretty insignificant and he was just bigging himself up a bit.

I love the interview episode. I remeber watching it for the first time a few years ago and had some interviews to do myself the day after. Was well excited, thought I was going to nail somebody to the wall and make them squirm with my cutting questions.

The candidate was some 16 year old girl, on her application under the section that said something like 'what personal qualities do you think you could bring to the role'  there was a big blank box. When questioned about it she shrugged her shoulders and chewed her gum.

She got the job.

Not that I remember. I think I just thought it would be interesting to hire somebody so bad, I wanted to see what would happen.

It wasn't that interesting, she just didn't turn up.

Just think Lord Sugar has a soft spot for Chris like he did with Simon in series 3.

He didn't stretch the truth though, he runs a telecoms company and it's licensed. The fact it's internet based and doesn't need any other license seemed to be lost on Alan's tech guy. He was probably busy working on the follow up to the em@iler though so I suppose we can forgive him.

I think he said he was fully licensed. You probably know more about it than me but it sounded like he was fully licensed for what he needed to do but not a fully licensed telecoms company.
Either way it was way OTT for Sugar to say he was full of ****.
Also agree with Horneris that it needed to be longer - less clips of them lying to each other saying the interviews went well and more reasoning for the sackings. Probably more Margret too. She was brilliant.

But if he runs a telecoms company (and there didn't seem to be any disagreement there) and he has the licenses he needs how is he not a fully licensed telecoms company?

That is so strange you said that Claire, as I thought of you, you are very astute and you would be a good candidate.

I loved the bit when Margaret said that Chris most probably has all his certificates framed and he sits and looks at them!

A quick look at his website and it does seem to be a telecommunications company. One with a rubbish website, mind.

i actually think he knows his IT stuff, but WTF was he doing studying at Leeds Met? I mean if you exceptionally clever then why on earth do you travel away from home to go there? Apart from one or two distinct courses its a graveyard for people who failed their A'levels.

Am I the only one who sits and watches the apprentice and thinks, about 20 times an episode, I'm better than him/her!?

Although saying that I don't think I'd match Stella or Chris, I thought both of them had some great attributes that I honestly don't think I could compete with.

Does anyone else share my view?...Or perhaps I really AM business savvy enough to go on the next apprentice ;)

far from the only one I'd say - I think that's part of the appeal of the programme.
