Title: It,s just luck though innit? Post by: bhoywonder on October 07, 2010, 12:45:59 PM Haven't posted in ages...but a workmate the other day asked me isn't it all just luck,n depends in the cards ur dealt...
I stammered n spluttered ,about pot odds,trends,n tells,gaining info...etc..to a blank stare..... So if u were asked a similar,cliched question about poker how would you explain it accurately,and shortly? Title: Re: It,s just luck though innit? Post by: Karabiner on October 07, 2010, 12:49:34 PM It's a combination of luck and skill, provided you have some skill.

Because if you reply with a decent sensible answer they just say "Yes, but what about Flushy" And you've just lost the entire discussion...it's not worth it. Title: Re: It,s just luck though innit? Post by: RED-DOG on October 07, 2010, 12:57:21 PM Yes, it's just luck..... Hey, do you fancy a game?

Play cash at least once a week in local snooker club and two guys week in week out hit flush's str8's no probs. Agree when i win its a very skillful game

Title: Re: It,s just luck though innit? Post by: Woodsey on October 08, 2010, 04:55:52 PM To non believers I always compare it to scrabble.
If me or you were to play a shit hot scrabble player over 100 games he would win most of them because he is better than us. We would win some games simply because we got better letters than him. However, he will win in the long run once the number of good letters and bad letters because he is better than us. That is the best explanation I have thought of, and people seem to mostly get it............ Title: Re: It,s just luck though innit? Post by: kinboshi on October 08, 2010, 06:16:02 PM I had a full house yesterday, but lost to a straight. All because he was on a triple-word score ;grr;
