Title: Ipod touch. Post by: Novice on October 08, 2010, 12:16:13 PM Hello all, my name is Paul. Before i ask my question i would like to thank Laxie and Ironside for there help in my signing up. ( typo in my email ;noflopshomer; )
Right the Ipod touch. Worth getting ? I ask as I'm thinking of getting one. Now there are three you can get 8GB, 16GB, 32GB. Now apart from the obvious does the 8GB do the same job as the 16 or 32. I would like one for listening to music, podcasts, finding out the latest football scores and keeping up to date with Any info would be appreciated. Paul. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Hiya Paul and welcome to blonde!!! I did a search of the forum for you and haven't found any threads that cover the topic yet. We're kind of a split camp around here when it comes to anything ipod related. Some people are mad for them and their relations (iphone, ipad, etc.) while others prefer alternatives. My mom bought the kids ipods this summer, but I haven't gone near them to see what they're capable of. Will have a look and pick their brains tonight. Hopefully others will give advice in the meantime. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: tikay on October 08, 2010, 01:20:40 PM Hi Novice,
Welcome to blonde. I'm the resident IT geek around here, so if you have any questions on I-pods, htc's, or gizmoish things, I'm your man. I have a 17kilowatt HTC, & I've worked out all the high-tech shortcuts. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Laxie on October 08, 2010, 01:33:35 PM rotflmfao He sure has.
Although, he does (without meaning to) bring up a good point. Have you not considered going for something along the lines of the HTC Desire? Good few of us on here have one and swear by them. It does everything an ipod would do plus LOTS more (if you know what you're doing - or have a good bloke around to teach you). Plus it's a phone, so you really do have the lot in one piece of kit. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: tikay on October 08, 2010, 01:39:37 PM The HTC Desire is far & away the best smart-phone I've ever had. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Graham C on October 08, 2010, 01:44:04 PM Does he want a phone? OP mentions just an iPod.
Excellent bit of kit imo, very easy to use. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Girgy85 on October 08, 2010, 01:46:04 PM The new iPod nano looks good!

I'm open to persuasion if its as good as you say. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Ive found a HTC Desire walkthrough on Youtube. (link here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSh-OH_0Lew ) which i will have a look at. In the mean time if anyone has the Ipod touch and can give me a quick heads up that would be great. Cheers. Paul. If you want and device to play music and you also need a phone then the iPhone is a must IMO! Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Laxie on October 08, 2010, 02:14:52 PM Just asked my girls. They have 32gb ipods and have only put games on them so far. Not bothered too much with adding music just yet. They've 23gb left after downloading games.
They've said they're happy enough with it's internet surfing and told me to mention you'll need access to wi-fi for the surfing. Apparently they can send free texts from it too. That's how they kept in touch with me when they were in America this past summer. They sent from the ipod and received on their own phones. Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Novice on October 08, 2010, 02:46:06 PM For the amount of time i use my phone i cant justify the ££ for an Iphone. As nice as they seem to be, it would be a waste of money.
How much is a HTC Desire out of curiosity ? To buy not contract by the way. The free txt'ing from Ipod to Phone has to be a good thing right ? ;) Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: Laxie on October 08, 2010, 06:39:08 PM A quick search says it'll knock you back £350 there or thereabouts for an HTC without contract.

Not only that, it is far to small i would definitely lose it. ;D Title: Re: Ipod touch. Post by: byronkincaid on December 29, 2010, 11:09:11 PM so apparently FT are changing the value of their points so if you want to get some (non tourney ticket) stuff from their store need to do it before 10th Jan.
http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/full-tilt-store-holiday-giveaway was gonna get a nano to mostly use while out jogging but I have enough points to get either an iPod classic or a 32GB Touch. looks a bit big for jogging but has internet and stuff which may come in useful, touch seems to have a much bigger screen than the classic for watching videos, dunno what to get...
