Title: Getting disconnected when house phone is in use

So im running my internet from a netgear wireless router, obv plugged in with filter at same point as house phone, yet im still getting Dc'd for like 3-5 mins everytime the house phone is in use...

any ideas ?

I'll start with.....

Use the phone less.

1. Replace the filter. They're frequently crap.
2. Are you getting disconnected from a wireless connection? And if so, are you using digital cordless phones? Try without one or the other, if so. Can interfere with each other, esp if you have a low wireless signal.

I would try different filters and sockets (for both router and phone) first.

After that I would try a different router (if you can borrow one!).

This happened to me once, internet would die whenever the phone rang and it turned out the router was dying.

It was a Netgear router that fixed the problem for me.

I used to have this issue occasionally too, Luckily i'm in a Virgin area now so got that instead.

Cheers ill try this... thing is its pretty temperamental, sometimes it dc's everytime, others its stays connected.

Its my mum, pointless phne calls to family every other 15mins  ;grr;
