Title: Shame the press don't make a big deal
Post by: boldie on October 19, 2010, 01:00:38 PM
Would have been nice if the telly would have been making a big deal about this...might have sorted the scummy tabloids out a bit...although, obviously, the BBC, C4 and Sky wouldn't want the tabloids to stop printing lies as then they themselves have no excuse to follow it up;

Is she suing them?  Terrible excuses for 'newspapers' and they shouldn't be allowed to do this.  People shouldn't buy them either though, and I guess whilst they do, they'll continue to fill them with lies and crap.

The biggest selling newspapers are the ones that are full of lies and crap. Its what the British public love best. Long may it continue.

I hope she will and I hope John Terry will (It cost him the England Captaincy and several pennies in sponsorship...oh yeah, and the little thing of it almost costing him his marriage) and I hope Wayne Bridge will (He was unavailable for the WC as he pulled out of the England thing over this, although he might not have been picked anyways).

At no point does it say they weren't having an affair though.

At no point does it say they weren't having an affair though.

These "newspapers" wouldn't be publishing an apology if they had any proof whatsoever that they were having an affair. As soon as her lawyers came to them and said "We will sue" did they offer this half-hearted apology.

And actually they are now saying it was all bollocks;

Quote
On January 31, we published some personal information about Vanessa Perroncel concerning an alleged affair
This affair was alleged by the tabloids themselves

with the footballer John Terry. We have since been informed she would have preferred this to remain private and it was untrue in any case

You can be pretty sure that the tabloids lawyesr went over this statement before they posted it and the way it reads is that there was nothing happening here and they indeed just decided to make the story up themselves.

If I was her and it wasn't true I would make damn sure they said so. As it is it just sounds like they printed some things that were untrue about her during the stories. Otherwise they would apologise to JT too, wouldn't they?
