I LOVE YOU Bradley. Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: Heid on December 25, 2005, 11:57:02 AM I had a tonka truck, remember the ads? The toughest toy in the world apparently...My play with the Tonka truck consisted of throwing it down the stairs to prove it wasn't that tough.
I was wrong, and got into loads of trouble as I ruined the wallpaper down the stairs... Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: brad.strider on December 25, 2005, 12:05:09 PM remember the advert where an elephant used it as a skateboard ?

Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: tikay on December 25, 2005, 12:36:43 PM an orange and a lump of coal tikay? ;tk; Listen Mad, laugh if you like, but you ain't THAT far wrong. We went on a school outing to the Panto, & we all got a brown paper bag. Inside it was an orange, a packet of spangles (whatever happened to them?) and a Christmas Cracker. And we were delighted with that! And all joking aside about "in my day", but for Christmas, I always got a tennis ball. To a young kid, i those days, a tennis ball was THE NUTS. You could play SO MANY games with a tennis ball, either alone, or with mates in the street. It started off all lovely & fluffy, eventually ending up completely threadbare. They were beter when they were threadbare. They never wore out, either, great value. Happy days. Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: madasahatstand on December 25, 2005, 12:55:43 PM unfortuneatley the christmas spirit around these days would not even touch your tennis ball joy and happiness. i say bring back the day of the tangerine and tennis ball
mad Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: tikay on December 25, 2005, 01:04:12 PM Oh yeah, the tangerine! I forgot that. And yes, that Tennis Ball was more fun than ANYONE could imagine, and for so much time. Valoooooooo! Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: Iron on December 25, 2005, 01:06:02 PM tennis balls were a waste of space never did tim henman any good
we used the cheaper option a house brick great for playing cricket with unless someone coneected for a 6 thru Mr henry's window Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: Dewi_cool on December 25, 2005, 01:06:24 PM NUTS!!
We used to have them with the Tangerine, Walnuts never able to get into them though Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: The_nun on December 25, 2005, 01:09:31 PM We always used to get a small net bag of marbles......and these little cardboard make yourself planes...
Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: tikay on December 25, 2005, 01:10:13 PM Oh yes, walnuts too! And we never used the tennis ball for tennis, tennis was for posh folk & cissies. We played football, "fives" - for HOURS - "he", "it", practised bowling against an imaginery wicket on the side of the house - I was Fred Trueman or Alec Bedser - "penalties" - I was Billy Wright, dribbling with the inside & outside of the foot. Jeez, you could not do better than a tennis ball. Title: Re: festive greetings Post by: snoopy1239 on December 25, 2005, 01:21:26 PM ;merry christmas; snoppy
