Title: protein shakes help

Hi I have started trying to get into shape and been advised to drink some protein stuff to help build and repair muscles
so i bought some pricision engeneered strawberry
On the back it says mix one scoop with 125 ml of milk, water or yoghurt

but the question is how many scoops am i ment to drink?

Also do you get theshits quickly after drinking it?

Protein is the nuts after the gym, makes an incred amount of difference.

Id say 3 scoops/4times a day.

Never had any problems after having it, although 'protein farts' are pretty rank

If your just starting out you probs wont need more than 1 scoop. Depending how thick you want the shake to be as to how much milk but about half a pint is good.
If you get into the training seriously there are better options on the net for protein

Buying from Holland and Barret is wayyy to expensive, but;

Get it from myprotein.com or get the phd stuff from http://www.phd-fitness.co.uk/store/p/782/1/PhD-Nutrition-Pharma-Whey---5lb-/-2.27kg-+-FREE-PHD-SMART-BAR.html

Plenty of tasty flavours available, I would buy one sample kit if I were you so you can try different ones (PHD does this) Sachets are approx 25Mg, which is enough to go into approx 250mill water.

When you order from Phd you also geta  shaker and all that sort of crap with it so you won't have to worry about dosage (Though I just mix until I get the flavour I like..not too watery etc.)

How can you possibly know this without knowing:

a - what's in the product

b - what the rest of Paul's diet consists of

c - What Paul's training regime is

FWIW Paul and this is based on minimal information so could be complete bollocks. Use water, not milk. You'll end up having too much protein if you mix with milk. If you shit more than you used to you're consuming too much so cut down.

Unless you're training very hard you don't need extra protein from powders. Just changing your regular diet to add a bit extra will more than suffice and save you a small fortune. If you are training very hard though then some supplemenation will be essential just to maintain body mass.

Don't listen to too much you read on here. It's mostly gash.

Buy a few magazines with big men on the front covers. They all have loads of articles on diet that are based on much better information than that which is available to your average poker player.

350ml proper milk, 1 scoop ON double choc, nom nom nom, tastes like crap with water imo

lose weight mainly but wanna regrow my knee mucsles mainly so i can play sports again

Some of the powders taste like utter shite mixed with water and some good. For in depth information about the powders google muscleforum and they have loads of info there.
There are different powders, it depends how much you want to throw yourself into the ins and outs of what they do. Normally, you would be having a shake after each training session. Then the last shake you would have would be the milk protein shake which has different amino acids which will release and replenish the body over night when you are sleeping.
I used to know lots more but haven't trained for a number of years so do check out that forum, it will help.
