Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: AndrewT on October 25, 2010, 09:01:40 PM I'm going.
Very excited to see the 1-6 49rs play the 'only lost to Oakland by 45 points' Broncos. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: WarBwastard on October 25, 2010, 09:14:49 PM We should send Bolton and Stoke over to America to play a game, see how they like it.

Mate bought the tickets so no idea where I am in the stands this year, but he promised it would be better than the rubbish seats I bought last year. ;D Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: Longy on October 26, 2010, 12:35:16 AM Yep going with my Dad, he is a big 49ers fan. He hasn't rung to cancel yet!
Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: vegaslover on October 26, 2010, 10:13:52 PM I don't know where i'm sitting either as was mates turn to buy the tickets.
Ticketmaster have messed him about though so we have to pick up the tickets from the box office, sigh! Going to wembley early to catch the Newcastle game. Last year you couldn't get in a pub that had the manu-liverpool game on, we ended up watching it in a bookies..lol Tailgate open to all ticket holders this year Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: Newportlad on October 28, 2010, 09:32:24 PM I'm also going to this. Again, mate has bought the tickets so no idea where we'll be seating.
He has a spare ticket for sale at £65. If anyone is interested, PM me for details. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: Acidmouse on October 31, 2010, 04:33:48 PM wanna bet on this but 1.88 for 49'ers is it value for 1-6 team?
Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: AndrewT on October 31, 2010, 09:29:24 PM Just got back from this.
Thankfully things picked up in the 4th quarter - the first half must have been the worst half of NFL ever, abs dreadful. Pretty sick when the Denver punt return TD got pulled back - would have been an awesome finish. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: Madone on October 31, 2010, 10:10:20 PM great 4th quarter....and what a good atmosphere...much better than football when all the fans do is insult each other.
Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: Indestructable on October 31, 2010, 11:15:43 PM Thought 49ers were poor and no way back in the game but suddenly woke up and enjoyed 4th quarter.
PS Had a go at throwing the NFL ball through the holes in the Coors inflatable stand and managed my first throw through the smallest hole. (Much to the annoyance of those I was with) ;yippee; (http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii19/Indestructable_photos/Photos/P1000649.jpg) Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: AndrewT on October 31, 2010, 11:48:19 PM One thing that struck me is that when I watch on the TV, I don't notice all the stop/starts, because of cutting back to the studio and chat/updates from other games etc, but when you're actually there, jeez it doesn't half drag at times.
After the first touchdown extra point was kicked, I went down and bought some beers and made it back to my seat to see the kickoff. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: gatso on November 01, 2010, 12:07:19 AM just watching the highlights now. they've cut out the first 13 1/2 minutes of Q2, really must have been bad

Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: AndrewT on November 01, 2010, 02:33:58 AM How much should a pint cost? Blatant 'Howard Lederer buys all my beer' brag post. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: thetank on November 01, 2010, 01:11:15 PM Before the last punt I announced to all the niners and the dirty chargers fans around me that Eddie Royal was going to return it for a touchdown.
When he did run it back I may have gone a little mental. Was so busy sticking it in the eye of people behind me that there were around 83,000 people in the stadium that knew the play was brought back for an illegal block before I did. Was still celebrating when they were running the next play, about two dozen people , some of them dirty chargers, looking at me to savour the moment when I twigged. Dignified, not so much. Title: Re: NFL game at Wembley, who's going? Post by: vegaslover on November 01, 2010, 05:56:31 PM First half of the game was awful. Abs nothing to watch at all. 2nd half much better. Denver should have been out of sight but didn't take advantage of the yards. Being denied 2 scores due to penalties did for them.
Went to get 2 beers at halftime and they ran out at the first bar I was at. 2nd bar they had to keep throwing the beer away as the 'machine' they use for pouring the beer kept pouring froth! |
