Title: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: EvilPie on October 26, 2010, 05:24:10 PM Thought this was a pretty close one to call and just wondered what others thought about it.
9 left. 8 Seats to DTD deepstack worth €400 each. Cash prizes for 11th to 9th mean I've got €150 locked which is obviously a factor. We're in for €32 having had add on only. Hand history doesn't show it but there's an ante of 600 as well. Chip leader who has raised has been raising loads so I've no reason to think he's ahead of us but obviously there's a good chance he's got at least 1 over card. Other 2 shorties will be forced all in before me once each. http://www.holdemmanager.net NL Holdem $6,000(BB) Replayer Game#2376290570 Lynchy2875 ($36,902) SB jacks12 ($23,568) BB JakeWilk ($119,740) Chili ($73,105) Adrian747 ($44,279) easee123 ($95,366) babybaby3 ($2,976) Tittyhead ($4,280) rock0786 ($2,384) jacks12 posts (BB) $6,000 Lynchy2875 posts (SB) $3,000 Dealt to Tittyhead 9s 9c JakeWilk raises to $30,000 fold, fold, fold, fold, Tittyhead........ Fwiw my decision was to call. I can't help but think though that I should've passed given the other 2 shorties. I'd also be interested to know if people's decisions would change without the €150 being locked? TIA. Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: gatso on October 26, 2010, 05:43:40 PM unless you've got the players in the wrong order the other 2 won't both be allin before you, you're between them
is 5x the guy's standard raise? Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: LeedsRhodesy on October 26, 2010, 05:49:09 PM think i would fold here too as guy says both other small stacks with be all in before its your bb Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: EvilPie on October 26, 2010, 05:53:52 PM unless you've got the players in the wrong order the other 2 won't both be allin before you, you're between them is 5x the guy's standard raise? Pretty sure they will mate but correct me again if I'm wrong. Babybaby3 obviously has a big blind which will put him all in. rock0768 will face 4x 600 antes before my big blind thus setting him in. Raises are just random. I think it's based on whichever key his finger is closest to tbh. Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: gatso on October 26, 2010, 05:57:30 PM I ignored the antes bit obv. easy fold then

Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: mondatoo on October 26, 2010, 08:24:57 PM I do a fold.Do you not normally take the rebuy at the start ?
Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: doubleup on October 26, 2010, 08:30:47 PM I'd also be interested to know if people's decisions would change without the €150 being locked? This cant make any difference - its a flat payout no matter what that payout is. There are 2 guys going to be all in before you and the big stacks are going to limp to try and knock them out. Babybaby3 is going to really nit it up because the other shorty is all in one hand before he is, so he'll have <600 chips left and even if rock0786 survives what will be at least a 3 way all in vs the Chili and Ardian747 in the blinds, easee will probably limp UTG and JakeWilk with his 120k stack will almost certainly limp the button. Even if he does survive the 4 or 5 way all in, babybaby3 is all in the next hand with Adrian and easee in the blinds, jake and Chilil probably limp too Say everone has a random hand and is 20% to win their all in, if you fold here you are 0.2*0.2 = 4% to be forced all in if you fold here. This doesn't take into account the fact that one of the shorties might pick up a hand but obv they have zero fold equity anyway This brings up to the conclusion that we should be folding AA here which I never knew so thanks for posting this :) Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: paulhouk03 on October 26, 2010, 08:55:22 PM fold pretty sure my range will be aces here

Unless you were drinking at home at the time?
Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: EvilPie on October 26, 2010, 11:12:44 PM Yeah I realised this was a fold after the event but thought I'd check it out to be sure.
At the time I was in a rush with a few comps on and without time to check stacks carefully I just hit the call button and closed my eyes. Having looked on HEM at the full HH and stacks it's a clear fold but at the time I just saw a decent hand which was 100% locking up the seat. Luckily I held against A5 despite a huge draw by the turn so got away with this mistake. I think with us all being in a row with the blinds on their way round I just didn't quite calculate right. If the BB was a couple of seats along then there's only one all in before me and I just didn't have time to work it out properly. As a point of interest there was no strategy being played by any of the big stacks. I think the 5x raise with 3 stacks <1bb shows this. Given the time to think about it I like DMorgan's post about folding AA here. What does everyone else think to that? Title: Re: Puke satellite bubble spot Post by: EvilPie on October 26, 2010, 11:17:31 PM I do a fold.Do you not normally take the rebuy at the start ? Not in these sats no. There's plenty of chances to double up a single stack anyway and it's a double add on as well. I find it's easy enough to get a 30bb stack after the rebuy period off €32 which gives me maximum value for getting a seat. This wouldn't be my strat in many sats but in this particular one I just like to let everyone else pay for the seats.
