Title: Playing poker on your phone Post by: georgesam on November 04, 2010, 03:29:55 PM Has anyone found a way to play poker on a mobile phone? I have a Samsung Galaxy phone, and am thinking of getting either an iPad, or a Galaxy Tablet. I want to be able to play on the iPoker network with William Hill. When I tried to log in to WHill, it said that it was not able to work through the phone - I asked technical support for WHill, but they simply said the software would not work on a mobile because you need windows... I asked if there was anything I could download to enable me to play, but they said no...
Does anyone have any ideas of how I might be able to get round this??? Any help would be much appreciated!! Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: EvilPie on November 04, 2010, 03:36:29 PM Hello George. Welcome to the forum.

Because it run on flash Sky Poker will run in a browser window on an htc desire.Tiny table mind you and because of Sky's short action time you dont really get time to zoom it. I think we need the new version of Android though? Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: georgesam on November 04, 2010, 03:56:56 PM Can you make calls from your laptop george? Of course I play on my laptop - and of course spend some time and effort to qualify online for good supersatellites, to find out that they run on the only day of the week that the local casino has a live tourney worth playing!!! If I thought I could get away with taking my laptop into the casino to play the satellite at the same time - I would!! But don't think the casino would be very helpful!! My name is Lynne Beaumont, by the way - James Browning's partner... The link posted earlier is where we've anything android related and Rush seems to be the only option atm, but it's not even official yet. If and when other options come up, the Lads will more than likely add them to that thread. We have been doing our house up, in Whitley Bay, ready to sell. It took about 8 months, so we haven't been to any festivals this year. James has been playing cash in Newcastle to keep us both fed and watered. The house is under offer - which when it goes through (God willing), means we will be moving further south and will be playing the poker scene again next year. Hope to go to Blackpool though next week, so may see you there? Thanks for your help Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: georgesam on November 04, 2010, 06:35:20 PM Ahhhhh, Lynne! Thanks for your message - am playing the last Betfred Ladies on Saturday at the Western in London - are you going? Then hope to get to some of GUKPT in Blackpool next week. Are you going to the Western? I must admit, they are not my favourite tourneys. Think I'll give them a miss next year. Hope to see you again soon... ;cheerleader; ;cheerleader; Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: GazWalker on November 04, 2010, 06:36:27 PM Oh and forget about iPhone...Apple don't allow direct gambling...so there won't be any apps You can play on any site with an Iphone or Ipad providing you have a home computer. Software called ITeleport (other software available too), connects to your desktop (Mac or PC), as it runs via your home computer your not accessing a gambling site etc so no problems with firewalls/filters etc, great for playing a table of cash or another tourney when your playing live esp if you get free wifi at your local casino :D Wouldn't bother with the Iphone version tho will be too small IMHO to use properly (bet sizing would be nightmare). Ipad works great tho :) Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: mondatoo on November 04, 2010, 06:37:19 PM Can you make calls from your laptop george? Am trying to get this sorted for Monday - coz want to play the Blackpool £200, and have qualified for a supersat online for the GUKPT Grand Final at about 9pm! Of course if I get knocked out of the live event VERY early, it won't be a problem! I thought the casinos might be a bit slow to catch on if I was usiing a phone, whereas to sit there with a laptop or iPad on my lap is a bit obvious... And will obviously p... them off! :dontask: Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: Laxie on November 04, 2010, 08:20:49 PM Ahhhhh, Lynne! Hiya Chicka and welcome again to the madhouse. Too many things on the calendar as it is and it gets costly flying over from Ireland all the time. My trips are usually for either APAT or blonde events. You've had a pretty good run at the Ladies events though, so well done! I'm sure I remember sitting at a table with James and watching him play poker on his phone. I'm sure I remember sitting at a table with James and watching him play poker on his phone. Hi Tom Thanks for your message... Yes, James did play on Aces Royal. They only had cash games, and went bust some time ago. I really want to be able to play on the iPoker network via William Hill as that is where I get a good deal, but it seems to be unlikely that I am going to be able to play on my phone in the near future very easily, judging by the feedback from people on the forum. Are you going to Blackpool? How have you been doing this year? See you soon. ;mexicanwave; Title: Re: Playing poker on your phone Post by: Woodsey on November 05, 2010, 04:59:27 AM Oh and forget about iPhone...Apple don't allow direct gambling...so there won't be any apps You can play on any site with an Iphone or Ipad providing you have a home computer. Have tried logmein and it works, but not the most user friendly - and you need a magnifying glass obviously!
