Title: ICM spot Post by: T_Mar on November 07, 2010, 01:00:27 PM What range should I be getting it in with big stack here pls?? Villian has been super aggro raising nearly every unopened pot since about 6/7 handed, he's raise/folded to reshoves a fair amount of time but also called pretty wide, and gambled in situatons like this where he can afford to take a hit... ICM not a strong point and I'm pretty sure i'm making mistakes
How should range differ if the villian is more standard TAG'y type (if at all given situation with other similar stacks to mine) ta payouts 1st 4344 2nd 3255 3rd 2470 4th 1852 PokerStars Game #52297969770: Tournament #326542112, $50+$5 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level XXXI (6000/12000) - 2010/11/07 3:49:38 WET [2010/11/06 23:49:38 ET] Table '326542112 25' 9-max Seat #2 is the button Seat 2: Shah&Shahi (145969 in chips) Seat 6: T_Mar79 (178344 in chips) Seat 8: marcoohtje (149679 in chips) Seat 9: ostereo (873008 in chips) Shah&Shahi: posts the ante 1500 T_Mar79: posts the ante 1500 marcoohtje: posts the ante 1500 ostereo: posts the ante 1500 T_Mar79: posts small blind 6000 marcoohtje: posts big blind 12000 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to T_Mar79 [x x] ostereo: raises 12000 to 24000 Shah&Shahi: folds T_Mar79: ?? Title: Re: ICM spot Post by: MC on November 07, 2010, 02:33:11 PM If the guy is competent he should be opening supppper wide, so you can jam lighter, but ICM is pretty delicate with 2nd to 4th all even stacks.
A shove here puts us a clear 2nd though which is rather handy. What do you perceive he will call you with if you shove? That's going to affect things... Against this guy I'm probably shoving: A8s+, AT+, 66+ Against a TAG your range should probs be more AJ+, 88+ Title: Re: ICM spot Post by: pleno1 on November 07, 2010, 02:45:00 PM if he's tightish I usually shove 88+ aq+ ajs+

Against this guy I'm probably shoving: A8s+, AT+, 66+ Against a TAG your range should probs be more AJ+, 88+ I'd guess he's calling something like pairs, any ace, most broadways Your shoving range is actually wider than I thought people would say.. but am kind of relieved if thats correct :) I had AJ and thought it was easy shove at the time, thought after it might be wrong given the stacks of other players and ICM... obv i'm well ahead of his range though Title: Re: ICM spot Post by: paulhouk03 on November 08, 2010, 10:50:19 AM If he is opening a lot I would jam pretty wide.
If he is tight I don't mind stop and going him or 3bet fold (probs 5%) but still be jamming quite wide here Title: Re: ICM spot Post by: mondatoo on November 08, 2010, 11:50:08 AM Never ever ever 3bet folding with 15bbs.
I agree with James' range since he taught me everything I know :) Title: Re: ICM spot Post by: outragous76 on November 08, 2010, 12:12:00 PM Never ever ever 3bet folding with 15bbs.
