Came home after the game last night, go to turn my sky+ box on and it just stays on standby, obv try switching on from box and unpluggin for 5 mins, had a look on some tv forums and tried some resetting methods, but cant get anything. Anyone had the same problem/got a solution ? or am i forking out for a new box ?

Ring sky and hope they have a solution. If the box is less than 12 months old i think there still under warranty. Sky once tried selling my sky box insurance if you took that out then your also obv converd. If the box is cream crackerd then you can buy sky box models of the net and there alot cheaper than if you bought them through sky direct.

i had a similar problem the day before the ryder cup. Ring sky  as the latest update will often fix this problem. It involves holding a few buttons in thats all.

My remote control broke and the geezer I spoke to on the phone said "Honextly mate, I would never buy replacements from us, we really rip you off and overcharge massively"

Got one from Comet from half the price Sky were wanting.

Sigh just phoned sky, went through some things to try and get it going, no luck, box is knackered. £65 for someone to come and fix, or get hd box for £10 extra a month :S

Same thing happened to me like a month ago, came home from work and exactly same thing happened.

anyone know which buttons to press to get it working?

He just told me:

while its still on standby press and hold the left and right arrow keys on the box

while still holding them, unplug box, then plug back in, keep holding buttons all time + 1min after turning back on, some lights should light up in the middle (mine didnt)

If urs doesnt, its also fked.



P.S... THIS PROCESS LOOOOOOOOSES EVERYTHING RECORDED ON UR BOX

Try this, unplug the power cable from the back of the box, leave it for a minute, plug it back in while holding down the back up button on the box until the lights appear on the front of the box.

It should then say updating software on the screen.

If not it's probably fcked.
