...hmmm...usually indicates scam....I'm optimistic it isn't?....john tabbatai is the site CEO apparently...

Now it sounds like I am promoting it...but I just won $15 of credit on betfair for $1.01...I need to wait 2 days...too good to be true?...we,ll find out soon I guess..

I think Josh Gould and John Tababababababababatabai are involved with it.

I did the same, 10 free bids so used them all on a $15 credit for Betfair and got it a couple of days later :)

Title: Re: bidibot?
Post by: suzanne on November 15, 2010, 12:23:00 AM
I actually used 9 bids and got it for $1.20 or there abouts so if i had been using my own money the $15 token would have cost $10.20 BUT there was a guy trying to outbid me who put in 8 bids so realistically they sold a $15 token for $18.20. Unless the other guy was also using free bids :/

Argghhhh..it adds 30 seconds on the timer...when u r the last bidder...some doofus keeps beating me...lol

LOL

I watched it for a couple of days and a lot of the smaller amounts go with 1 bid, especially the less well known sites

Title: Re: bidibot?

Yup suzanne...getting the gist of it...I'm on free bids..only 2 left....16 bids on a $22k pstars ticket so far...I let it go...so potentially $16 saving $6...albeit mines were free...not sure about this...

My thoughts were that whoever is running the site must be making a profit and if they are then someone is out of pocket.

...I'm coming to this conclusion too sadly...I can't imagine buying bids..too many doubts...I,ll just take my $13.99 betfair profit n turn it into mad moneyz...lol

Hi guys,

I am John Tabatabai, the CEO of bidibot.com. As you have correctly stated, we are the worlds first penny auction site catering for the online gaming industry. We offer a wide variety of credits on specific sites and in the near future will be offering much greater prizes on a daily basis.

Penny auctions are auction sites where you pay every time you place a bid, unlike ebay where you only pay if you win the item. On Bidibot, every time a bid is placed, you are debited 1 bid from your account, 30 seconds is added to the clock to allow other users to place a bid if they are interested in the product and your name is updated on the higher bidder area of the box. When the clock hits 0, the last person who placed a bid wins. To claim your prize you must pay the final selling price, i.e. $1.18.

All new customers receive $10 worth of free bids to try the site. Beyond that, you can purchase bids varying from $10 up to $1,000. Bids cost a maximum of $1 each, in most standardised scenarios they cost around 75c.

I have had to reiterate this point several times on other forums, so will make it clear here too, we do not use any house bidders, shills, bots or reserves. That is why you see so many auctions ending for simply 1 bid. Every now and again, some auctions go mad! Currently the majority of the auctions run at huge losses for us as we are such a new company. We are hoping these great deals create some buzz and hype around our unique business model. This weekend, Mark 'marky147' Herron played the GUKPT main event in Blackpool, £1070 event and won his seat on Bidibot for $3.18. He personally only spent around $50 I believe. He can attest to this himself. There are certainly bargains to be had on Bidibot, whilst there are clear times users should be aware when there is fierce ego wars or competition over certain products.

Prizes are usually credited to the winners account within 24 hours, apart from the weekends where it is usually credited within 48 hours.

If hope this goes some way to answers your questions. Please let me know if there is anything else I can answer.

John Tabatabai

Not sure what you are meaning or how this is meant to come across

Suzanne means the site has to make money ...profits to run....individuals may get lucky occasionally...but as she spotted...some auctions go for more than the value in total, but the lucky individual may get it cheap in theory....for example...a $20 pokersite credit sells for $1.30...bargain right??...possibly for the individual...but profits for the site guaranteed...bidding starts at $1...so that's 30 bids of a dollar each...ten bux for bidibot...not including free bids n bonuses, which I imagine brings down the total profit...hmmm....or is this sb oversimplistic view?

Title: Re: bidibot?
Post by: BidibotCEO on November 15, 2010, 02:05:33 AM
Hi Bhoywonder,

If something sold at $1.30 then the maximum the site would take in as income would be $30 @ $1 a bid. Currently our bid economy suggests a price range of around 50c-75c per bid given all the various promotions and freebid auctions. However, something important I would like to point out is at the moment there are a lot of low value credits which actually users should not spend too many bids on, as it does not make sense due to the bid cost ratio to prize, chance of winning ratio.

The reason we have so many low value items is due to the young age of our company. We expect within the coming months to significantly increase the value of the auctions running on the site and auction more GUKPT and EPT seats like we have in the past and bring on board more in demand electronic items such as ipads, laptops, TV's leading up to Christmas.

Best of luck,

John

Nice one, heard about it a few times but never tried it, used my 10 bids wisely (ie. waited until everyone else had made 10 bids as i guessed they were on the free bids) and eventually got a $22 stars ticket for $1.29 on my last free bid...sweet as!

Out of interest, are there any regulating bodies you need to be registerd with to run a site like this to protect yourself legally against accusations of shills/bots etc (much like a poker site would need, not that they ever worked...) I can think of at least one or two niche markets where I can't find similar sites but this format would most definitely appeal to the market.....just wondering whether i can feasibly operate one of these out of my bedroom without holding any stock or capital and allowing it to pay for itself..it looks like a license to print money, until the punters get bored or a competitor steps in and you have written cheques your ass can't cash....even if the site run good for only a few months you could eventually retire it and have made some good $$$$$ out of it in the process.....ideas ideas!!! :D

Gl suzanne...r u like me seeing the same names winning similar prizes?...they seem yo know what they are doing...

Yeah, I think to bib successfully for the bargains you need study the site a bit more than i did.

I used free bids to buy $50 worth of auction bids which i won for $45ish.

I decided to go for the $30 Betfair token, the one previously had went for $1.01 (1 bid of $1 + $1.01) and the next one only had 1 bid. I left it to the last second to place my bid and immediately matey boy put another bid in.

Once a bidding war has started you really need to decide when you are going to back down or if you are going the whole way....easier said than done!! I decided I would stop after losing $15 if the other guy hadnt backed down but its just too easy to give it one last go.

I shut down the site after I had spent $25 thinking "ave it ffs".

So matey boy spent $26 + the cost $1.51 getting it slightly cheaper than the value...or so i thought!!

I have just gone back on the site to check how much he paid when i see the actual selling price was $2.32  ;gobsmacked; and matey boy didnt win it after all.

After I left there was 81 more bids and by my calculations means that there were 131 bids + $2.32 so a token for $30 sold for $133.32!!! The auction site states that the winner made a saving of 92.27% LOL.

There are definitely bargains to be had though, a $55 stars token has just sold for $1.01. I guess I just picked the wrong auction to bid on.

I still have $25 so will be back but not today. I left with a very bad headache and a reluctance to play poker as i feel very much on tilt.

Title: Re: bidibot?
Post by: bhoywonder on November 19, 2010, 07:56:51 AM
Ul suzanne....I guess a couple of setbacks on this site will set u on tilt for sure..
I'm guessing the heavy users are rolled for this site enough to absorb losses...u would need to be

But it is gambling...and if u take a fruit machine approach,I think you can wave your bux goodbye...when bidding I would pay attention to who is against you and is it 3 or more bidders or a noob...this makes all the difference methinks...of course the losers auctions are the ones that make the site v promising for newcomers

Title: Re: bidibot?
Post by: StuartHopkin on November 19, 2010, 03:40:29 PM
92.27% saving is against what he paid, not the bids he used.

He could have been bidding all along and spend $70 or he may just have been the last man in! Who knows.

Sights a joke imo, people will find it more and more addictive as the prizes get bigger.
