Title: How best to get all the monies in? Post by: cambridgealex on November 24, 2010, 04:31:19 AM Playing 6max cash on Sky Poker. 0.50/1. New to the table, first session so no reads or history.
Im playing £100, everyone covers. UTG opens to £3, CO, BTN, SB call. I call with 4c 7c Flop comes 4d 7s 7d. checked to UTG who cbet £5, folds round, I called. Turn Ac. I checked again, he bet £9.50. I raised to £25. He called. River 5s. Hero? What is our best move on each street here? Once he calls the turn I put him only AK, AQ, AJ maybe AT. And maybe KQblue. OTR he'll call a bet with any big Ace, but could I win more by c/raising? The result is quite interesting... Title: Re: How best to get all the monies in? Post by: Rupert on November 24, 2010, 05:20:13 AM TBH i'd play every street differently so far.
Preflop it's a fold for me without a read that one of them is a chronic nit. On the flop IMO there are some decent merits to raising this flop: firstly he's UTG and can definitely have an overpair he's going to have trouble getting away from, secondly we are basically repping a fd/bluff/some 7/44/maybe 88-QQ so there is decent chance he peels one with A high or gets in FD+overcards/overpairs etc. On the turn this is going to hit his range quite decently from UTG and as such is a pretty obvious card to bluff as well. If you raise frankly you look ridiculously strong and certainly vs some bad regs i'd fold AQ straight up here. Irrespective of that however, he's generally going to give up his bluffs and continue with his aces, but the aces are very likely to value bet the river anyway and the bluffs sometimes bluff again. So we're going to sometimes miss a bet from his bluffs but not gain a lot at all from his aces since we win that amount anyway. As you've played it so far seems like an absurdly trivial jam, even if he does magically show up with KQdd then I doubt he bluffs it anyway and he's far more likely to have a strong ace which almost definitely isn't folding now. Title: Re: How best to get all the monies in? Post by: DMorgan on November 24, 2010, 01:15:51 PM Pre is a fold imo, you're just not deep enough to make this peel
I'd also raise the flop. Almost every combo of diamonds probably just gets it in on the flop. If he has an overpair you're letting bad cards come off on the turn that might slow him down with a hand like 88/99. I don't think he's raising UTG and cbetting into 4 people with air, I think he has a hand that he's stacking off with a decent amount of the time if you just raise the flop. As played I'd raise the turn bigger. At this point your raise sizing doesn't really matter much vs his calling range because he's folding his mid pairs most likely and calling with Ax and diamonds so go for max value. I'd make it ~£35 The river I'd just jam. Even with your small betsize on every street he's gunna struggle to fold an ace and if he has missed diamonds I can't see him bluffing all that often in what tend to be fairly passive games on Sky from my experience Title: Re: How best to get all the monies in? If i'm righgt about sky poker the games are ridic loose and I dont think he folds ANYTHING of any sort of value but he might fold to a c/r KQ etc. Id just keep on barreling as well - I think taking advantage of spazzy calls downs would be ftw in this type of game. and OFC fold pre but you know this! or do we need some more flop equity graphs. yum :) |
