Hadn't planned on it, but looks like I might be going now.  Will only be playing the charity even on the Sunday though if I make the trip.  Need the weather to cooperate now and we're good to go!

Feeling suitably pleased I paid over the odds to fly direct from Luton mainly to avoid an extra days holiday - good start to weekend.  Agree with posts, Stars are quality

Somehow turned a 6 hour trip into a 12 hour trip but i'm here staying at the travelodge.  The trip did take Keys victim though as his flight was cancelled.  This event just got a bit softer.

Was it this tournament that had the lol [ ] random seat draw?

yeah, it is. this is lazily nicked from gutshot, taken from stars blog

"12.15pm: Table of doom
Quite frankly the 'random' table draw has thrown up one of the most ridiculous table draws we've ever seen at a UKIPT event. Sat in a row on table 30 (which we think might be first to break) are Team PokerStars Pro Online Dale Philip, poker journalist Shelley Rubenstein, Roy Brindley and Team PokerStars Pros Jude Ainsworth, Julian Thew and Liv Boeree"

"2.30pm: Back from break
"Well, well, well. That's another fine mess you've got us into, Stanley." In a Laurel and Hardy turn of events the first break of the day revolved around an enture tournament redraw as there had been some issues with the randomness of the draw (which is what had led to some ludicirous tables of death as noted below). On the upside the situation was spotted, addressed and resolved"

"2.50pm: Random re-draw throws up mostly bores
Ok so we'd been a little spoiled by some of the initial table draws due to the lack of randomness, but it seems the computer has worked extra hard to spread out the familiar faces far and wide in the re-draw. "

Rick Dacey replied to comment from Paul Romain | December 3, 2010 2:34 PM | Reply

Unfortunately no conspiracy here but probably worth a better explanation. A member of the tournament staff (not a PokerStars employee, I hasten to add) realised shortly into the beginning of the tournament that he hadn’t pressed the ‘Random’ button on the seat draw. Therefore players were seated as they had bought into the tournament or qualified in. For instance, all three UKIPT Leader Board winners Chris Brammer, Mike Hill and Owen Robinson and fellow passport winner David Vamplew (UKIPT champion of champions) were sat next to each other. It was soon spotted but to save further mix ups the redraw waited until the first break. Boring answer, I’m afraid, but there you go.
