Steve Bruce to be sacked before the end of January (to allow new man a bit of time to bring in a player or two) seems a reasonable expectation to me. Who then comes in likely to determine whether they have any hope of staying up or not

I disagree that Bruce will get sacked in Jan, The chairman Gold has said that even if they get relegated, Bruce will be in charge, LOL. They just can't score goals, then they bought Heskey rotflmfao thats hardly going to solve the problem.

Firstly i agree the upcoming fixtures are a nightmare and it's tough to see any results going our way, damn it.
Secondly, what will happen is the big fat chequebook is gonna come out in January (did you know Blues are one of the most profitable clubs in the country? and the owners have a few bob between 'em!!) and Brucie will be bringing in a lot of players (mainly on loan i think though), this has happened before and we cruised the second half of the season.
Thirdly Brucie won't get sacked, Blues just don't like to sack managers but i would've thought if they were going to sack this one they would have done it a couple of weeks ago and gone for Burley.
Heskey was never intended as a goal scorer, everyone knows that. He is actually an excellent player, surprised the hell out of me!

Izzet is not a problem, midfield has never been we have Dunn, Kilkenny, Lazaridis and Pennant. It's actually hard to understand the results at times but the truth is they just ain't scoring and look scared.

I was extremely disappointed when Leicester accepted £11.5m for Heskey. Not!

I was delighted when Peter Taylor then spent the proceeds on Ade Akinbiyi from Wolves (£5m) and a procession of other top class premiership performers

blues imo will not go down and will comfortably finish above west brom who will go down. sunderland are dowm already and i think portsmouth might be the other but i dont think blues will.

Before the season started, I predicted Everton would be in a relugation battle. I was gonna put a cheeky bet on it, but never got round to it.

After watching them get dumped on by the Villa yesterday, I wish I'd made the trip down to the bookies now.

Any1 hazard a guess to what the odds would have been on the Toffees going down?

Personally I have a feeling the 'arry effect might save Portsmouth, and West Brom's experience of scrapping might stand them in good stead.

My bet is fans of Everton and both Birmingham sides are in for a nervous time. Fulham v Villa this week should be interesting.

i went to highbury last night and pompy are without doubt the worst team i have seen at highbury for a long time and that includes sunderland. im not saying they are worse than sunderland but last night they were awful and i am now convinced they will go down with sunderland.

i also still think that despite beating spurs last night (well done kanu) west brom, will go down as well

West Brom don't seem too bad at home, they've won the same at home as Man Utd.

I think Everton will drag themselves clear and Brum will join Portsmouth and Sunderland in the Championship next season.  Birmingham will lose to Chelsea next and WB to Liverpool, whilst Everton face Sunderland and Portsmouth play Fulham - at least two of Brum's fellow strugglers will pick up points.

It was almost embarrassing to watch Heskey swivel in despair as the ball bobbled forward lacking sufficient power even to reach the goalline.

Brum out played by Torquay in the 2nd half of the Cup game by all accounts.

Upcoming fixtures aren't easy.

Brum desperately need to beat Portsmouth.  Charlton away is going to be tough.  Liverpool away is a defeat.  Arsenal at home is going to be very tough.  West Ham away, very tough.  Sunderland at home, should be a win.

Two wins and a draw needed to keep fighting I reckon.
