Title: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on December 27, 2005, 11:58:42 AM Birmingham around 11/8 in places. Facing a few tough fixtures too:
vrs Man Utd on Weds vrs Chelsea on New Years Eve vrs Wigan on Jan 2nd Bruce under fire. Izzet, one of their most creative midfielders, facing a ban for the Boxing Day red card. Sorry blues I think you're on your way. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on December 27, 2005, 12:01:07 PM I think that the bottom 3 now will get relegated.
Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: TightEnd on December 27, 2005, 12:03:45 PM I think I agree with you
Steve Bruce to be sacked before the end of January (to allow new man a bit of time to bring in a player or two) seems a reasonable expectation to me. Who then comes in likely to determine whether they have any hope of staying up or not Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on December 27, 2005, 12:24:41 PM I disagree that Bruce will get sacked in Jan, The chairman Gold has said that even if they get relegated, Bruce will be in charge, LOL. They just can't score goals, then they bought Heskey rotflmfao thats hardly going to solve the problem.
Poor IFM... Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: TightEnd on December 27, 2005, 12:26:54 PM Fair point Nemesis
On another matter, I see Leciester versus Spurs is 6.30 on the Sunday night...is that for tv? bbc? Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on December 27, 2005, 12:33:03 PM I've just looked on the BBC website, these games are on sunday.
Sunday, 08 January 2006 Burton Albion v Man Utd, 16:00 Fulham v Leyton Orient Leicester v Tottenham, 18:30 Sunderland v Northwich, 15:00 So I guess that the Spurs match will be on TV, don't know which station, but I'm sure I will be watching Spurs progress into the 4th round on TV or on www.asiaplate.com ;) Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: TightEnd on December 27, 2005, 12:35:38 PM a)probably
b) another shameless spam c) shall I start a poll? Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on December 27, 2005, 12:38:17 PM LOL
Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on December 27, 2005, 12:43:30 PM OI!!!
:redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: Firstly i agree the upcoming fixtures are a nightmare and it's tough to see any results going our way, damn it. Secondly, what will happen is the big fat chequebook is gonna come out in January (did you know Blues are one of the most profitable clubs in the country? and the owners have a few bob between 'em!!) and Brucie will be bringing in a lot of players (mainly on loan i think though), this has happened before and we cruised the second half of the season. Thirdly Brucie won't get sacked, Blues just don't like to sack managers but i would've thought if they were going to sack this one they would have done it a couple of weeks ago and gone for Burley. Heskey was never intended as a goal scorer, everyone knows that. He is actually an excellent player, surprised the hell out of me! My pal is a season ticket holder at Liverpool and the fans up there were truly devo'd when Heskey left. Izzet is not a problem, midfield has never been we have Dunn, Kilkenny, Lazaridis and Pennant. It's actually hard to understand the results at times but the truth is they just ain't scoring and look scared. Bad day yesterday, especially when i get half a dozen texts and calls from smug V***a fans! Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: booder on December 27, 2005, 12:52:01 PM OI!!! Not!
I was delighted when Peter Taylor then spent the proceeds on Ade Akinbiyi from Wolves (£5m) and a procession of other top class premiership performers ;reallyamsorry; >:? He is actually an excellent player, surprised the hell out of me! ian, i agree with most of your points but that one takes the biscuit. blues imo will not go down and will comfortably finish above west brom who will go down. sunderland are dowm already and i think portsmouth might be the other but i dont think blues will. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: snoopy1239 on December 27, 2005, 05:48:42 PM Before the season started, I predicted Everton would be in a relugation battle. I was gonna put a cheeky bet on it, but never got round to it.
After watching them get dumped on by the Villa yesterday, I wish I'd made the trip down to the bookies now. Any1 hazard a guess to what the odds would have been on the Toffees going down? Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Dewi_cool on December 27, 2005, 06:29:36 PM What type of toffee are we talking about here? I think treacle toffee is best, by the way!

Sunderland are as good as gone, which leaves two spots. Personally I have a feeling the 'arry effect might save Portsmouth, and West Brom's experience of scrapping might stand them in good stead. My bet is fans of Everton and both Birmingham sides are in for a nervous time. Fulham v Villa this week should be interesting. My bet is fans of Everton and both Birmingham sides are in for a nervous time. Fulham v Villa this week should be interesting. i went to highbury last night and pompy are without doubt the worst team i have seen at highbury for a long time and that includes sunderland. im not saying they are worse than sunderland but last night they were awful and i am now convinced they will go down with sunderland. i also still think that despite beating spurs last night (well done kanu) west brom, will go down as well Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on December 29, 2005, 12:54:25 PM West Brom don't seem too bad at home, they've won the same at home as Man Utd.
I think Everton will drag themselves clear and Brum will join Portsmouth and Sunderland in the Championship next season. Birmingham will lose to Chelsea next and WB to Liverpool, whilst Everton face Sunderland and Portsmouth play Fulham - at least two of Brum's fellow strugglers will pick up points. Brum (11/10) - from 11/8 Pompey (8/15) - looking like good value for the drop now Sunderland (1/100) - Got £100,000 I can borrow? In that order, are my 3. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Watertight on January 01, 2006, 08:30:45 PM So I guess that the Spurs match will be on TV, don't know which station, but I'm sure I will be watching Spurs progress into the 4th round on TV or on www.asiaplate.com ;)
[/quote] Nemesis just wondering if you'd give me a brief low down of how asia plate work Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on January 03, 2006, 02:50:25 AM LOL just copied this from Blues match report against Wigan:-
The worst, by far, was Heskey's failure to make anything like a positive connection with a volley when substitute Martin Taylor nodded a Pennant free-kick into the burly striker's path when he was totally unmarked. It was almost embarrassing to watch Heskey swivel in despair as the ball bobbled forward lacking sufficient power even to reach the goalline. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on January 07, 2006, 05:33:44 PM Brum out played by Torquay in the 2nd half of the Cup game by all accounts.
Portsmouth get a sugar daddy in. Sorry Blues, hope you like the taste of Coca Cola. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on January 07, 2006, 05:34:26 PM Not a chance mate, the chequebook is out!!
Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on January 07, 2006, 05:37:01 PM Not a chance mate, the chequebook is out!! Who are they going to buy for £4.50? When Pompey have £400,000,000 ;) Odds against still. Lump on, you know it makes sense really :D Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on January 07, 2006, 05:41:12 PM What a joke Birmingham are.
"The chequebook's out" LOOOOOOOOL The chequebook's out, so lets go and buy Chris Sutton. Chris Sutton only scored 1 league goal all season whilst playing for CHELSEA, 6 years ago when he was a "better player" in a better team. Brum will definitely get relegated this season. 100% Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on January 07, 2006, 05:47:38 PM They have a bit more than £4.50!!!
Portsmouth ain't gonna stay up, Sunderland are doomed and we are better than the other few. Sutton is just a bit of a grasp, he is better that who we have at the moment though!! No way Blues are going down, stick your money on it though and then you can post about how you lost all your money on a stupid bet! Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on January 07, 2006, 06:28:52 PM Upcoming fixtures aren't easy.
Brum desperately need to beat Portsmouth. Charlton away is going to be tough. Liverpool away is a defeat. Arsenal at home is going to be very tough. West Ham away, very tough. Sunderland at home, should be a win. Two wins and a draw needed to keep fighting I reckon. Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on January 21, 2006, 05:00:32 PM AAAAYYYYYAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: MrMoves on March 21, 2006, 09:51:03 PM 7 against is a bit of a body blow.
Bruce out tomorrow? Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: Nem on March 21, 2006, 10:24:11 PM He has lost the dressing room. After the Spurs match on Saturday, he said that after Spurs went '1-0' up it was game over. This is coming from the manager of a Premiership team fighting relegation at home with 35 minutes to go.
Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: TightEnd on March 21, 2006, 10:25:54 PM He's gotta go, injury problems or not...they laid down and said "nope, not interested" tonight
No remorse here, or from Palace fans, or Sheff U fans Please please please get him to Newcastle :D Title: Re: Premiership Relegation Post by: ifm on March 22, 2006, 12:24:31 AM this is the first time i have sworn on this forum:-
Bruce is a fucking knob and he needs to be taken to a quarry by 3 ugly fat blokes and buggered to death. Though he will still be in charge next season, not wrong because faith should be shown in managers just wrong because he ain't one.
