We would like to know the places where you have had the best experiences playing poker - and also any cities in Europe where you would like to see a poker tournament organised

My personal top 3.

3. Bolton. I saw Jay Jay Ococha in the casino there, so it must be good.
2. Luton. The best Kebabs this side of Watford. Plus almost no chance of getting mugged outside.
1. Walsall. The only place in England where you get asked if you want gravy on your chips. Also get to to stay in the Quality Hotel where each room has a different shaped stain on the bed.

Guys just to help Lili out here, and just so you know its a sensible request and not spam..and she was given permission to post...

She represents a company that is going to be setting up a regional tour for the WPT, as well as being the largest organiser of the WSOP bookings for poker sites and players.

As far as the new tour is concerned they will be choosing locations around Europe so the original post is asking players were they would like to play and what is there favourite casino and country.

Hi Lil,

Aspers casino Newcastle. Voted best place to "party" in Europe a few years back, came runner up in European Capita of Culture last year. Really friendly people, lots to do, close to Edinburgh not too far to other big cities. Really nice cardroom, have just employed one of the best cardroom managers in the UK and always looking to expand. UKIPT have just announced they are holding a leg in Newcastle.

shippppppppppp the WPT to the toon.

Assumed it was going to be spam.

Hence the facetious reply.

Apologies.

But I did see JJ in Bolton.

Vicky Coren played £1-2 NL with Darren Fletcher no less.

And she missed the chance to tell he looked like Junior!

Geremi used to be really good friends with James Browning, played alot of tennis together iirc and James helped him improve his poker. Quite alot of the players used to come in, Joey Barton has won a £20 donkament before lols.

Hi Lili, I would have to say that my favourite locations are as follows:

1.  Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham - brilliantly organised, fabulous facilities
2.  Dublin - a large tournament would have to be run in a hotel though
3.  Aspers, Newcastle - great location, lovely casino, very well run card room
4.  Barcelona
5.  Monte Carlo - never been, but would love to!

Good luck with your tour.

Thanks
Michelle

Meh, the inside of one casino looks much like another...

I think when done properly - the decent hotel approach works much better than the casino on a UK basis, Raddison in Galway, EPT at Metropole - maybe I am just lazy and like to have my room, gym, spa, restaurant's under one roof when I go away - quicker to do something when I bust.

Based on that I go city wise....

Dublin
Barcelona (casino fab and ok as Arts near)
Nottingham for DTD
London
Prague

I guess the problem with a regional tour is the current volume in these cities - based on the success UKIPT and in a different way Mike Lacey and D4 events the key to me seems getting sats on the right sites with a deep reach inc France, Benelux, Scandies, with sensible buy ins and a decent structure.

It's a shame the Dutch government hates online gambling (at the moment) as Amsterdam would be such a great place to host an EPT or WPT event.

Quality Paul....we'd all be in prison with our hands chopped off, ever tried getting a net connection from there?  Turkey and Dubai - the worst places in teh world for on-line grinding.  I actually refused a job interview there on those grounds...

Thanks to all of you who told us about your favourite places to play poker and where you would like to see a tournament.  I represent a company that is going to be setting up a regional tour for the WPT, as well as being the largest organiser of the WSOP bookings for poker sites and players.

As far as the new tour is concerned we will be choosing locations around Europe so we need to know where you would most like to play; your feed back is really important to us
