Title: UKICOOP Main Event Syndicate Staking Interest
Post by: The Camel on December 10, 2010, 03:02:39 AM
My guess is there will be a significant overlay in the $530 Mian Event.

I think we should get a syndicate togther to put in several blondes who wouldn't normally be able to play.

Obviously as it's a pretty high buyin event and a one off staking it would have to be something like 25:75 or 30:70 in the stakers favour but the prizes should be big and 25% of $50k or whatever is still a good payout for no risk.

I envisage 4 people putting in a grand or so and staking 6 or 7 players.

If anyone is interested in the staking part, pm me. (I envisage the stakers pool the money and split the payouts, while the players just play for themselves)

Once I see how much we can raise, we can then take applications for the stake.

Buying people (with all due respect) who are probably -ev into a tourny at 1.33-1.4?????????????????????

Only need 300 to cover guarantee- if they dont cover it, it will be close and no way a profitable investment

Sorry to be the Xmas Grouch :(

Works as a nice gesture and fun but as a business proposition im out

I can think of at least 5 blondes who probably won't play this who would be massive +ev.

Obviously would be very stringent on selection of players.

EDIT: Meh, I thought the guarantee was $200k.

I'm still in though if a couple of others will put up a grand.

It's a two day event, I think that will disuade quite a few players.

I'd be surprised if there was over 250 players.

As I said before, I thought the guarantee was 200k. 150k makes it less appealing as a staking venture.

I think if this takes off the most important thing would be what to call ourselves if selected.

In order to get the thread going and make it happen, I would play for 25% of the action, and take nothing until I have achieved at least double the buy in ( but then it reverts to 25% of the full amount).

Not to sound ungrateful but I wouldnt play under these terms. Its a 20k stack with a 30 min clock 2 day event. You could grind for x amount of hours for nothing.

I would play for 30/70 in backers favour. Good motivation for horse and hopefully nice amount of $$$$ for backers.

I don't think it's going to happen, sorry guys.

The idea was for James, Toby and me to pick one player each and then to choose another by random draw meaning 4 stakes.

Toby is up for it, but James hasn't got back to me and I want variance by having as many players as possible.

I've waited as long as I can, but I need to go out now and there won't be time to soirt ot all when I get back.

I'll do some staking over Christmas to make up for it.
